Skip bathroom hospitality baskets?

Sara, on June 7, 2019 at 7:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20
My wedding is in 8 days! We're really getting down to the wire on a lot of things, with only a little time left to go and more left to do. We do have some complications.. my poor step mom is in the hospital recovering from an illness, my FH and I have been very, very sick all this week, and I couldn't take off work next week like I had hoped. Something's gotta give and maybe it will be the hospitality baskets in the bathrooms (they're currently like 1/4 done). Would it be awful if I just didn't do them..?

I wouldn't bother. It's just one more thing to manage! I hope you feel better.

Skip the baskets. It's nice but not necessary. Take care of yourself this week! Get your rest and fluids in.

Skip the baskets. They are a “nice to have” not a “must have” focus on getting healthy for your big day. Nobody will miss them. Good luck.

Only seen one or two in my life. They are a nice touch, but not worth sacrificing your mental health for. Smiley smile

Not necessary at all. At this point, don't street about the "would be nice" items.

Skip it! I had one with pads and tampons, but it was mostly for me since I was supposed to start the next day. I don’t think it was used.
I don’t think anyone will miss it

I don't think it matters at all honestly! It's a nice touch to have for your guests, but if you don't have the time it's definitely something that wouldn't be missed. I feel like it's one of those things that's really nice if it's there, but people won't think twice about it if it isn't! The week before the wedding you definitely need to be at the point where you're letting some of the smaller things go and focusing on what HAS to get done, and giving yourself a break. Especially because you've been so sick! I hope you feel better! Your guests will be fine without the baskets I promise! Smiley smile

Don't even worry about it! Take care of yourself and your loved ones! We had bathroom baskets and not one person said anything about them. I still have two baskets full of stuff. Nice but not necessary at all.

Skip them. Whenever I have needed something at any event, a woman nearby has had it. And I am very often a person people come to, since even without my kids, people assume moms with lots if kids travel with the world, even in a small clutch purse. And they are right. Lots of people always carry sanitary supplies, needles and threads and safety pins, headache and heartburn remedies, little soaps and packets of tissue, nail clippers and clear polish. You are busy enough.

My FBIL/FSIL didn't have them at their wedding. I don't think anybody cared.

They 100% aren't necessary. I've only seen them at 1 wedding!

Your health is more important, drink fluids and get some rest. If it is really bothering you ask your MOH if she can finish therm for you.
