Skipping the Getting Ready Pics

Has anyone here skipped the getting ready pics in your wedding day? I have the photographer booked for 10 hours. I think we are going to do the ceremony at 2, it’s about a 10 minute drive from the accommodations. Even if she showed up at 1 we would pretty much be done getting ready, so she’d probably have to come at noon. Starting at noon would mean she would half to leave by 8 and miss most of the dance and band. We have some good friends playing in the band so I think that part is more important. I don’t think I would miss the getting ready photos but I’m looking for some reassurance.

I’m skipping as well, I know how I look in a morning bonnet lol But I did opt to take some bridal portraits before the ceremony, I want some pictures with fresh makeup and while I still look my slimmest before I start to drink and eat throughout the day. Boy I tend to bloat through the day 😂😂😂

Oooooh I am the same way. I wake up stomach flat in the morning and 6 months pregnant by bed time 😂 That’s a good idea. Maybe I will skip the getting ready shots, and do some nice pictures in the church garden right before the ceremony, just the girls.

I agree. I don't want to waste time and money on shots me and my family could catch on camera with our phones. Plus I kinda want my privacy and to just spend that time with my family and bridal party getting ready. I feel like having someone in there taking pictures will add to the overwhelming feeling of the day and the nervousness. i opted out

I didn't have any getting ready pictures. I just had ceremony pictures. Sometimes I wish I had done getting ready pictures but I'm not losing sleep over the stuff I could've done.

Thanks for being honest. Lots of people always say that they have no regrets. Which I get is true, you probably loved your wedding, but that doesn’t mean there’s not little things here and there that you might have changed. Nothing is ever perfect!

We missed the getting ready shots because one of the groomsmen was late and they ran out of time to get shots of the girls getting ready. I thought it would bother me but it doesn't really bother me that much. I'm just glad that the photographer got plenty of shots of the guests! At the end of the day they would deliver a certain number of photos as per the contract and I'm glad we got more shots of the guests rather than me sitting around getting my makeup done lol.
