Sky Lanterns in Jamaica

Natalie, on April 4, 2014 at 9:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

Hello -- I am having a destination wedding in Jamaica in 22 days! I want to bring sky lanterns with me for each of our guests. Has anyone done this? I want to bring them with us in my checked luggage -- but I wasn't sure if this was ok. Where are my destination wedding brides! We are flying US Airways! Thank you!

You will need to make arrangements with the airline; how much weight will this add to your checked luggage?

I don't think that much --- I haven't ordered them yet. I wanted to make sure that I could bring them before I purchased them.

Could you ship them to the resort ahead of time?

They won't allow us to do that. It would be SO nice if they did!

You can bring virtually anything in your checked luggage if it's underweight. i would be more worried about the resort allowing them at all

I would call TSA and check with them before buying. At least that way you know for sure!
