Slim Down for the Gown!

Is anyone else doing a slim down for their gown?? I've lost 23 pounds and want to lose another 30 pounds so that I'm back at a healthy weight and look how I envision myself in my dream dress.

Please don't slim down for the gown. I love rhymes but this is the worst. Find a gown you love that fits your body as it is and makes you feel beautiful, just like you would with any other clothing item. It is not worth the added stress of trying to lose a large amount of weight for one day. If you have other health concerns and weight loss could help, great; talk with your doctor. But please don't make it about a dress or one day of your life. You are so much more than that.

I'm not doing it just for my wedding but to feel better about myself overall. I don't like how I look and feel in my clothes so I'm doing something about it. Having motivators, such as feeling great in my wedding dress and in a bikini, are great and I'm not doing anything unhealthy to lose the weight. I'm all for body positivity but I'm not happy with mine so I'm working towards changing that in a healthy way. Smiley smile

Yes! I've lost about 25 lbs this past year (lost it before I was engaged actually), and plan on losing another 30-40 before the wedding, which is October 2022. It's not easy, but I'm determined! I'm trying to figure out when the best time to try on dresses is since I'll be losing so much weight.

I'd start looking 10-12 months before your wedding since you don't know how long it'll take for your dress to come in/alterations. My wedding is December 2021 and I got my dress in April 2021. It won't be ready until October! I bought my dress at the size I am but made sure alterations could be made regardless of how much weight I lose.

Yessss. I ballooned up to 181 lbs last year because I had no reason not to. The only thing that motivates me to control my weight is an event in which I'll have to wear an evening gown or swimsuit.

I've lost 24 lbs in the last 3 months, and want to lose 27 more by my wedding date in May. I go dress shopping in 53 days and wanna lose at lease 12 more lbs by then, then I can work on the last 15. I want a super fitted, open back sheath dress so I need to lose any back fat as well as as much of my loose skin above my c-section scar.

I love intermittent fasting. I dont eat breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, and whatever I want for dinner. I bought my dress a size smaller online. It hasnt arrived yet but can't wait for it to get here, so I can see how much further I need to go!

I get headaches if I don't eat every few hours, so intermittent fasting didn't work for me. Did you experience this? I'm excited for your dress to arrive! Mine isn't arriving until October, so I need to focus!
