Slow Songs - Yea or Nay?

What's your stance on slow dances at your wedding reception? Do you have a few slow jams planed to get some extra romantic moments dancing with your new spouse? Or are you skipping the slow songs and diving into the party? Are you down for some slow songs at your reception? Yea or nay? Photo by...

Are you down for some slow songs at your reception? Yea or nay?

I like a few slower songs mixed in, gives people the chance to take a break. But I want our dj to read the crowd and if it’s a lot of groups instead of couples dancing I don’t want to kill the vibe. We are looking forward to a non stop party atmosphere. So hmm maybe like one an hour haha

We’re not dancing at our wedding; it’s a midday celebration and it just feels weird to have dancing. Plus FH and I are really uncomfortable dancing in front of people

Yea. I always get bummed when there isn't at least one or two slow songs. Maybe one toward the middle of the reception and one to close out the night.

Yay! There's quite a few I'd like to have during the reception, at least during dinner.

We are having a smaller wedding (80ish guests). All but a handful are married.. my FH's cousin got married and had quite a few slow songs during her reception and there was always people dancing. With the intimacy of the venue/group, I'd like to keep this feel. We've asked our guests to put their wedding song on their RSVP cards (all were obviously slow songs)... this way guests will hear something memorable and go dance to their song, and it keeps a steady pace of slower songs we know they will enjoy!

I know we're having at least 2. But we hired a band so I trust they know the good times to slow it down

Just a few- but usually your DJ knows how to work them into your lineup!

Yes. H doesn't like to dance and will only dance to slow songs so I like when there are a few thrown in here and there.

I really want the dance floor to be like a party all night, but I do want to play just a few slow songs! I like slow dancing here and there, but definitely will be playing mostly upbeat songs!

I really don’t want slow songs but my mom says we gotta have some. I don’t even want to slow dance with my husband. I’m more of a solo dancer as I don’t like anyone holding me back. LOL

Yay!!! FH and I can't dance to anything but slow songs. I am what you would call a "white girl with no rhythm". We are very good at two stepping togetherSmiley smile

Yea! We will have 2 or 3 slow songs probably. My FH and I wanna have those moments together to just slow down and embrace each other.

YEA! I am always down for slow songs. They're sweet and everyone wants to dance with their special someone.
