What's your stance on slow dances at your wedding reception? Do you have a few slow jams planed to get some extra romantic moments dancing with your new spouse? Or are you skipping the slow songs and diving into the party? Are you down for some slow songs at your reception? Yea or nay? Photo by...

    Nay, as there's no reception.

Please consider the elder guests! They might be fine with "chickie-chickie-boom-boom" (as my husb calls it) for much of the reception, but would appreciate some slow songs. After all, the event is a romantic occasion, & what's more romantic than slow dancing? We've been to TWO weddings recently as what used to be considered honored guests - the GRANDPARENTS - where we were neither introduced, nor given the chance to enjoy a slow dance with either the bride or the groom - or with friends - or each other. We can fast dance with the best of them, but why does it have to be ONLY that? Please consider slow songs as a way for lots of folks to have a chance to chat - to music.

Ashley, you've described how I feel! The reception of our grandson we just attended was nothing but a party for the young people! Sure, we got out there a bit, but it just went on & on. Why invite all the aunties & uncles and we grandparents (that's us) if we're not going to be treated to some music to which WE might enjoy dancing? The noise level was so high, those not on the floor couldn't chat - but might have been able to do so during a slow dance!
