Small Budget weddings with mountain views near Denver?

Jennifer, on May 17, 2019 at 7:14 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 0 5

Does anyone have advice for a budget friendly venue near Denver that would have nice mountain views? My dream since before we got engaged was to get married at one of the National Park locations, but due to the size of our family (just with parents, siblings, one set of grandparents) we are over capacity for most of the options and I can't seem to find information/pictures on the others (Hidden Valley Ranch, Sprague Lake, Harbison Meadow). We are coming from Iowa so any local advice or other experience would be very much appreciated! We are going out in July for a visit, but I'd like to get my dates set in stone so I can get my photographer. Prefer to be in/close to the park for pictures. Thank you!!

Literally anywhere in RMNP is beautiful. If you want photos of a specific site I’d try googling “RMNP hidden valley wedding” under image search- it’ll bring up several pictures from local photographers that have shot in those pls es. Local photographers will also be a great resource for more info. The RMNP rate is reasonable, but just remember every car that enters the park also has to pay an entrance fee, not sure if you were planning to shuttle in. I did a ton of research on Estes park venues, grand lake, I-70 corridor, etc and found most places were way out of budget for us(I’d be happy to share if you’re interested). We ultimately decided against doing it in the park because of the restrictions, which I 100% support leave no trace and practice it, but I knew I wanted to do some things that we couldn’t do in the park and we need seating for grandparents (one of whom will be 97). The most affordable places I’ve found are renting local parks in mountain communities and some of the event centers owned and run by the town they are in. Congratulations on your engagement and best wishes! Let me know if I can answer any other questions, we live in the front range and spend as much time as we can up in the mountains.

We're getting married in steamboat springs which is a few hours from denver. It has similar view like Vail, CO but costs wayyy less. There aren't that many "venues" so we had to be a little creative. Steamboat lake is a beautiful state park and is in the mountains outside of town.
Heads up, anywhere in the Colorado mountains will most likely have snow majority of the year. May-Sep is usually your best bet if you don't want snow and bad roads.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Jennifer Smiley smile

Some great local advice from the previous posters and location suggestions.

The WeddingWire venue directory is a great place to start your search for a venue.

You can filter by venue type (I filtered the below by park and outdoors), capacity, amenities, city, etc. This may help you find a venue with the views of the mountains you want.

Is there a particular reason you and your FS decided to get married in Colorado? Is it for the views only?

Hey lady! I am getting married myself in RMNP at moraine amphitheater in September. Super cheap and holds 100 people. I am also a wedding photographer and have shot several weddings in National Parks here. Would love to help you out with planning!

Check out your local Fire Halls, VFWS and American Legions. They are very affordable
