Small Business registry

Katelyn, on January 15, 2019 at 8:45 AM Posted in Registry 3 5

Does anyone know of a way to create a registry that contains items from small local businesses? I know that Etsy has a registry option, but I'm hoping for something a little more flexible. For example, a girl I know sells custom cross-stitched pieces via Facebook and I would like to add one to my registry. Also, there is a small coffee shop in my town. I would like to add some of their house coffee and two mugs. I just can't figure out how to make a custom list and was checking to see if anyone knows if its possible/ how!

I haven't heard of a way to do this honestly. Do you have a site for your wedding? You could always include the website for both of those places and see if people get you gift cards for them?

My sister used Checked Twice for my nephews' Christmas lists. It's a website where she is able to set up sort of a registry for their gifts, and can give links to each item, so they're all over the place - from Amazon and Kohl's to Baseballism. We're able to check items off the list as we claim them, then mark as purchased once we've bought them.

Obviously I don't think this is the site for you since it's geared more towards Christmas, but if you take a look at it to see if it's along the lines of what you're looking for, I'd bet you could find something similar for wedding registries. Maybe the same company even has a site set up for it.

Hi Katelyn! Welcome to WeddingWire and congrats on your engagement!

I really like this idea but I'm not really sure if there's a specific cite for doing this. However, like MrsV1027 mentioned, perhaps you could include these vendors/locations that you like on your wedding website. Were you planning on making a wedding website? Are a lot of your guests from around where you live/in proximity to this coffee shop & the custom cross-stitched pieces vendor from Facebook?

Otherwise, if you decide not to register at all or just to make a small registry with a home goods store or Etsy (like you mentioned), guests who do not gift you something from your registry (or if registry items run out) will know to give you cash/checks as a gift instead. In which case, you could use this towards whatever you'd like. Smiley heart

MyRegistry allows you to add anything that has a website, barcode, or that you can take a picture of. They also allow cash funds.
