Small diy wedding, small details i could be forgetting?

Smarie1993, on January 15, 2022 at 3:02 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 3
We are doing a small DIY wedding this fall. So far the most expensive part is going to be my dress and the floral arrangements/my bouquet. My best friend is going to do my pictures (I'm going to pay her but she doesn't want to charge me at all), my MIL is doing the cake for free (her gift to us, she does cakes), the venue is a local beautiful campground that has an amphitheater/pavilion that only costs $25 to reserve for the day, after party will be on our property with BBQ food. A friend is going to help us with a party tent for the after party. We're doing our own music and making the majority of our decorations. We have rings picked out. I'm making my own invitations.
We have less than 70 people we are inviting, so it's not going to be huge. No actual wedding party (like bridesmaids/groomsmen). We plan to have my older sons walk me down.
I'm trying to figure out the small details/costs that I need to factor into our budget, things I don't want to forget until last minute. So anyone who has already done or planned a small/simple diy wedding before, I'd love some advice!

Aww it all sounds so beautiful and the fact that you have so much support it brilliant. I think you have anything down, just remember your dress alterations, hair and makeup trails and jewelry.

It sounds lovely. My sister had a small wedding in her backyard and it was beautiful and intimate. One thing I'd suggest is to write out a very detailed timeline with people's assignments for the whole preparation, day-of, and afterward. This help you to think of every detail. And giving this to people who are handling the details will assure there will be no stress or guesswork. Nobody knows everything that's in your head so communicating will make sure it goes smoothly.

By afterparty, do you mean reception? Where will the guests have bbq-- under the covered pavilion, or at your home under the afterparty tent? Even though you are serving bbq, I think you can have any formality you choose and can do everything from casual picnic table seating and beverage coolers, to outdoor table seating, glassware rentals, and food servers.
