Small engagement rings unite!

I recently saw a Facebook post that's been floating around in my feed. It's a picture of a girl wearing a small solitaire diamond engagement ring. I recently saw a Facebook post that's been floating around in my feed. It's a picture of a girl wearing a small solitaire diamond engagement ring. The caption read: "If he proposed to you with this, would you say yes?" I was saddened and shocked by all the girls who said "NO!" See, my engagement ring was a little marquise diamond, probably about .26 carats. I absolutely LOVED it, and with the wedding band, I LOVE it all the more! (To put it in my husbands words, he wanted to "put a crown" on my finger, and gave me a "crown fitted for a queen!") I remember back when I got engaged, people seemed so disappointed when they saw my e-ring. "Is this really what you wanted?" "Do you plan on upgrading it?" The best compliment I received was "Oh..! It's so you..."

I kinda wanted to make a "small engagement ring pride-post" for you gals out there that love their little rings but feel like society is telling them that a ring has to prove their worth. PS, you are more worthy than any e-ring!!

My ring has so much meaning behind it...the big diamond is my FH mothers from her engagement ring and the 3 on each side of the big one is from an anniversary ring my father gave to my mother (he passed away in june) there is enough diamonds to make my band and I am SO excited!!!

He made me my ring and I love it. I didn't want a big diamond. I'm not sure of the caret size but it's pretty modest. I agree that some people judge the ring too much.

@Rosey I know it was probably an accident, so it's not a big deal, but could you please go back and delete your post that repeated several times? (I might flag it if you don't read this).

@Kelsey, I agree. Your ring looks gorgeous on you. I don't know why some people think a small ring=a poor relationship.

My small ering! I think it's absolutely gorgeous!! I've always loved single settings, and anything bigger would have been too much. The twisted metals are my favorite part! (People tell me that it reminds them of the Christian fish symbol.) It's exactly what I wanted In a ring and then some Smiley smile

I love my ring, and think it is the perfect size for me. It's a 0.6 carat. I've certainly gotten a comment or look or 2 from people who think its a bit small, but for me it is perfect. I would not want anything different!

I wouldn't even take my ring off for a bath, you know... That should be something very precious - not just in terms of its price, but in terms of its meaning. Only thus could the wife remember how strong her hubby's feelings are Smiley smile I love the style of the

http://www.kushdiamonds.com.au/ - that's the types of that very ring I'd love to have! My hubby has made the ring at the jeweler's special dep, and it's a divine thing for me Smiley smile

Mine is VERY small with some detail around the edges. I was honestly very bothered by this when I first got engaged, even though I have never been the flashy type (hence the reason my husband got me a small ring!). It's so easy to get caught up in the hype of the large rings, but ever since the day of our wedding I have not thought once about the size of my engagement ring. The meaning behind it became the only thing that was important. I am proud now of my sensible ring and how it allowed us the financial freedom to take an amazing honeymoon!

I absolutely ADORE my ring. It's .5 total CT weight I believe...I forget now. But why does it matter? I think it's sad that we live in a world where money (or the amount someone is willing to spend on a ring) equates love. It shouldn't be that way and quite frankly it doesn't have to be. I have only gotten one comment on my ring saying it is "cute". That came from a girl who's husband is loaded and spent a ton on her ring... (Not saying there is anything wrong with that and I'm sure my ring looked small compared to the one she's used to seeing everyday)

I think it's like the other girls said it really all depends on what your definition of small is & what you personal preference is. I'm newly engaged & I went with a non-traditional ring rose gold with chocolate diamonds & i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I believe it's 3/4.

I recently got my girlfriends engagement ring and it looks very small. I saw it online and it looked a good size got to the shop and it had to be ordered in. It arrived today and at first glance it looked nice, sparkly and shiny, when i got it home for closer look it just looks very small, its 9 carat white gold with a 1/4 carat diamond, im a bit sickly feeling now, tjought itd be bigger, keep thinking my fiance to be will be ashamed to show it to people or something, just looked alot bigger online and at first glance in the shop. 2days till valentines and im really worried, hope she likes it.

I love my small e ring! I am a nurse so I am constantly working with my hands and putting on/taking off many pairs of gloves every day. For this reason, I told my FH to stick with rings that had a lower profile. I have gotten the comment “oh... that’s cute” way too many times. Despite everyone’s lack of excitement for it, I could not be happier with it! To me, it symbolizes the choice we have both made to share our lives together. The Roman numerals on it represents the date he proposed, and once we buy our wedding bands, I want to have our wedding date in Roman numerals on that. I’m so glad there is a post on this topic! Your rings are gorgeous ladies!

Large diamonds are stunning but in my opinion they are too flashy and gaudy. I adore smaller sized rings. I personally think they are chic and sophisticate.

All ring are precious and beautiful because the person (fh) took the time to picked it out and proposed to you with all of his/her heart and love. It is sentimental because it represents love that you have for each other.

So. Nov 14 my bf proposal happened. After 4 years finally. I love him so. He proposed. 14 k white gold 0.33 k diamond 💍. Feom genesis diamonds. I know the average ring is about 1 karate. My love paid just around 2,000. I know we are not rich. He has the sweetest 5 year old. We are trying to save. I’d love a big ring but I love mine. What do you all think? I just got engaged. Everything about it is perfect but I am unsure on the emerald cut - I had my hopes on radiant. I don’t have the heart to say anything.

One thing no one ever talks about when you get engaged is all the different types of reactions everyone will have and how easy it is to tell the genuinely happy people and the people who aren’t. I got engaged in November so I was showing off my ring to anyone that asked during the holidays.
I can’t tell you how many people called my ring “cute” or “Oh that’s so cute!” It was mainly girls I was going to have at my wedding 😬. So very quickly I changed that. I now only having my sisters and one sister-in-law. Best decision I ever made.
I cried so many times during my engagement because I was able to tell the genuine reactions to the ungenuine. I could care less if yours is real, fake, big or small. I would be genuinely happy for whoever met the love of their life and is starting their forever.
I am soooi in love with my ring. My fiancée, his mother and brother all went together to a little jewelry store in our local area. I went into this jeweler to have it sized and the older couple that owns it are the sweetest souls.
I wish I could tell myself months ago when i would be crying wishing people would just be happy with me. Stop caring what others think. Small engagement rings unite! 4
