Small fast wedding.

Any advice? It's been decided we will have 64 days until we are married. I have that amount of time to get it all together. I won't be having a wedding like most. It will be very small. And when I say small, I mean all of 15 people. Should be easy right? But I have no idea where to start. Or what to...

And when I say small, I mean all of 15 people. Should be easy right? But I have no idea where to start. Or what to start with. I thankfully have the dress down already. Just having trouble with vendors since most are way out of budget for that small of a wedding. We don't even plan to have a wedding party.. just us. I will take any advice anyone has to offer!

I'm sorry but it's still an actual ceremony at a courthouse???

Just like an elopement is an actual wedding.

    Don't be rude.

Thank you all for the constructive advice! I have contacted a company about an elopement package, a restaurant about using one of their private dining areas, and will be reaching out to a small local church today! Most of which I would not have thought of on my own.

You can try what I did. I knew "vendors" personally and you could try to ask them and find out what their pricing is. We got very lucky with how little we had to spend on ours. Our professional photographer only made us pay $250 and she was amazing! We had a second shooter and he only asked $75 and he was also amazing! The Dj only $400 and kept the party going and guests on their feet! We did the wedding ourselves which saved us a lot and I got it done pretty quickly, as for our venue/reception we kept it in the same area and we also didn't pay a dime for it thanks to it being our family. Just a few little options for you. But I'm thankful I went DIY

Why do you have such a tight time line?

I will never understand people who make arbitrary deadlines for themselves and then want to do an actual wedding- but on a smaller scale.

Why would you want to do that to yourself- the whole fucking point of a really small wedding is to avoid that shit. Stop making problems for yourself.

go to the courthouse do a J/P- take your family to dinner. Stop making shit harder for yourself if you want to get married in 64 random days.

Erica, you can't call people jerks... it's completely against CGs and rude as fuck.

Also the thicker skin comment, is rude as hell. Insulting those that commented isn't exactly the best way to go about things... I'd suggest you learn how to take comments with a grain of salt and bypass those you dislike..

Not everyone reads throw all the comments, I know I don't always. So there's repeat comments. Again no need to insult people. Perhaps it is not us who needs the thicker skin..

I'm sorry that my planning a wedding in 64 days bothers you so badly jorocka. But I don't need to explain to you or anyone else why I chose to do it this way. Wedding planning is stressful anyway. No matter how you do it. I'd like to walk down an aisle and experience what a wedding brings. Thank you! If you don't want to bring helpful advice then that's fine. This is what id like for myself.

No one was rude.. they merely pointed out that the comment about courthouse weddings cake across as rude.

I'm sorry you feel the need to leave, it's an amazing community and they offer amazing helpful advice.

It doesn't bother me- I just don't understand why you are doing that to yourself.

Pick a fast wedding- and cut out all the bullshit floofy stuff.

Or wait and have the wedding with all the bells and whistles you can afford.

Why are you trying to squeeze both in? Planning a wedding is super stressful as it is. I don't care at all- I have nothing invested- I'm just curious as to why your setting yourself up for that.

Hire a little restaurant. Find a great officiant (not all states even have JP's; NJ doesn't..) Get a dress, some music, some flowers, and you're good to go. It's just as real.

Look for Elopement venues. When we were looking they had packages for 15-40'people. It included drinks, food, etc in a short amount of time. Play with the google and Facebook wording. Good luck my friend!!!
