Small Wedding at luxury rental house with pool?

Sunny, on July 2, 2021 at 11:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hi everyone so i would like to rent a luxury house with a pool and nice backyard where I can have an inexpensive ceremony and reception. About 70 people where it would be just like one big party. Certainly not formal but elegant. I just don’t know how to find a place or plan for this. I can’t afford a wedding planner. So how do I best find a house to rent for wedding and caterer? Really need help thanks!

You can search Air B&Bs but make sure that parties aren't a restriction, alot of them don't allow parties anymore.

I agree with Airbnb’s and Vrbo. But like PP said, a lot of these don’t allow parties and I don’t know that you can find one that holds 70 people

As of right now, there is a complete ban on parties of more than 16 people at Airbnbs. This ban went into effect in August 2020 and they are supposed to be providing an update regarding this rule at the end of the summer this year. No one knows right now if these rules will change if so how.

Do you have a specific area in mind? I think the easiest thing to do would be to google search mansion rentals for events. Most rental sites, such as AirBnB, no longer allow rentals for events because of the amount of issues there have been in the past with that.

As others have said, most rentals aren’t currently allowing this. Even so, it ends up being a lot more expensive than you’d think. You would need seating and tables, linens, plates, etc for 70 people still. There will be so many additional expenses I’d consider a true venue for these reasons.

Everyone else already covered the likelihood of not being able to find a house rental to host a wedding. But I also wanted to add that 70 people is not a small wedding, so keep that in mind when you are looking around for venues and setting your budget. It's absolutely possible to get married inexpensively, but "elegant wedding" + 70 guests + low budget are probably not compatible goals.

    Try Splacer, Eventcentive and Peerspace.

Thank you everyone! I did a quick search on Airbnb and didn’t find anything! Now I certainly know why! Was hoping to not have to have a wedding at a wedding hall and for it to be less formal. Any mansions I was able to find were traditional and historic as opposed to what I would like. More of a modern luxury big house.

I'd look into women's clubs if you want more house like, but they probably look more like cottages and community centers.

If you have a tight budget, I'd recommend being more flexible with your vision. "Modern luxury house" is not a common type of venue. Rustic chic seems more readily available these days
If you want a pool, you can look into small hotels and bed and baths.
