Small Wedding Venue in Wash DC area?

Margaret , on January 5, 2014 at 7:43 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 8

I am looking for a location for a small ceremony and reception in the greater Washington DC area. (Total 25 Guests) Has anyone had a ceremony or know of a location that could accommodate the small number?

Rec centers or a resturant possibly , I don't think you would want to pay the high venue fee for 25 people. Where are you located? Google the website intimate weddings you can find smaller venues on their website.

Rockwood Manor (a gorgeous wooded mansion in Potomac, MD, that used to be the headquarters of the Girl Scouts) has a wonderful package for small weddings, $600 for one room for four hours:

The only problem is that you can only book it 45 days in advance.

Another alternative is to look at the private dining room of your favorite restaurant. We had our reception for a dozen guests at a Legal Sea Foods. The only rental fee was a 2% surcharge on the cost of the food.

Or you could check out this bride's discussion of Teaism Restaurant as a wedding venue:

Yes, I'd look at restaurants or maybe small hotel conference rooms.

I have heard 2941 in Falls Church is gorgeous: http://www.2941.com/pdr/venues/

OpenTable has a list of a lot of DC area restaurants with private banquet space. It has the different numbers and their capacities.

You should check out some of the historic properties that you can rent through the Fairfax County park service. They are beautiful www.cross-country.gov/parks/hprs/ . Another option is L'Auberge Chez Francois, in Great Falls www.l'auberge extraneous.com. I went to a beautiful small wedding here. The ceremony and cocktails were held in the lovely garden and then dinner was inside.
