Small Wedding Venues

Christina, on January 24, 2022 at 2:35 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 15
We recently got engaged and have viewed a couple of venues. We Plan to have between 40-50 guests in April of 2023 and are seeing venue/meal costs upwards of $13,000 after fees. We’re both new at this and don’t know what typical costs are and would love some insight into wether or not this sounds pretty average or if that’s on the higher end. For reference we are in Florida and are looking at resort style venues. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda high in my opinion for your guest count. I am paying less than that for my all-inclusive venue for about 50 people.

That’s what I’m thinking too! What type of venue are you using if you don’t mind me asking?

Take a look at eventective.com which has more of a variety than TheKnot lists. Are you wanting something something all inclusive? Often they have 5-6 figure food/beverage minimums that must be met along with guest count minimums in addition to rental fee and other admin fees. So they are not the budget options they are advertised as.

It depends; what all does that $13,000 include? We are having about 40 people at a hotel venue and it’s going to be around $10,000 for the venue rental fee, food, bar, and taxes/fees; and the venue is providing tables, chairs, plateware, and bar/wait staff.

It really depends on what it includes. If that includes food, cakes, ceremony and reception seating, and coordinator then I would entertain the idea. It definitely depends on your area also. I found a bunch of veggies on the Wedding Wire app that were inclusive.
You can also follow hashtags on Instagram for vendors in your area, and see what venues they post from. I discovered a ton of venues that I didn't know about this way. For example, I live in Austin so I follow #atxweddingphotographer #hillcountryweddings #atxcatering etc.

I agree, For 40 guests with 5 passed appetizers, plated dinner with two entrée choices, five hour premium open bar, tables (cocktail and dining) chairs, linens, cake and champagne toast along with separate ceremony we are at $12,500. I shopped around a lot and this was the best price I could find.

Prices are very high here .. that’s not uncommon for them to charge that much … a lot for venues I’ve seen and all kinds are about 4,500 for venue rentals alone .

I spent most of 2021 dealing with your same issue. We wanted a spring wedding on the beach for 40-50 guests and the food and beverage minimums at most venues killed our budget! What part of FL are you looking in?

I live in Sarasota, Fl and we are planning our wedding for april 2023, around 70guests. All the ceremony/reception venues we’ve found so far are around $17,000+😫 i wish i could give you some tips but we are struggling to find a budget friendly venue ourselves. Good luck to you tho! If i find or hear of any good venues I’ll definitely let you know
