Small wedding/postponed big celebration

Hi, everyone.


It’s been so long since I’ve been on these forums.My fiancé and I have just been at a loss for what to do as far as our wedding date. There is no blueprint for this and we never envisioned our wedding would take place in the midst of a pandemic.
My fiancé and I have decided to stick with our original date: August 1st, 2020.However, this will just be the pastor, our parents, and siblings. (A little different from the 250 we had on our guest list!)
Then we will have a larger celebration later on — hopefully next year.
Can you please share your advice on how you made your first, smaller wedding special, and how you plan to expand on your celebration at a later time?
Obviously, I want both days to be special.Did you wear the same dress? Did you still walk down the aisle on the first day, or opt for a courthouse wedding?Did you have any of your original vendors like your photographer, musicians, etc.?
Also would love to hear when you fit in other festivities such as your bridal showers and bachelorette parties!
