Small Weddings

Rasheeda, on November 9, 2020 at 10:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 19
How common are small weddings? I really don't plan on having a big wedding, I want to do a small wedding with just my fiancé and our two children. Is it worth spending money on a small intimate wedding like that on the beach?

There are many people that do small weddings! Totally worth the money if it's what you want.

Its getting super popular with COVID. I recommend you go for it. Just don't spend so much money where you go into debt.

I hate to fell like anyone is left out, but with everything going on I guess better to have something small and worth the money being spent.

I agree, COVID has stopped so many events this year I hope that I can book places. Money is always my biggest issue with budgeting. I wouldn't know where to start when I do start to plan.

Small weddings have always been common. It boils down to what the couple prefers. What you describing is a true elopement where there are no guests beyond the couple and their legal witnesses. Those are also common. Do what works for and don't worry about others.

Yes, this. I had a small wedding by choice, long before COVID was a thing. Small weddings will always be "in fashion" (not that fashion matters for these types of decisions). As long as you don't spend more than both you and your future spouse want to and can afford, it will be worth it.

There are lots of intimate weddings. The amount you want to spend on it would be a personal choice.

It gets more expensive the more people you have. Small is the way to for me.

I would hate to spend so much when some people may not show up.

Our wedding will be on Summer 2022 and if there are no restrictions we plan on having maximum 70 guests. I consider that small since most venues want you to have 125+ guests. Our definition of small may be different, but less is still worthy of some type of celebration. More people celebrating your love is a great feeling! Set your own boundaries on how many people you invite and how much you spend. Small weddings are fun because you two won't be pulled away from conversations and connections as much. Can be just as gorgeous as a big wedding.

I just would hate to leave anyone out but also it is my day so a small affordable wedding is the way to go. Do you have any advice on venues?

Think outside the box. Take a look at industrial spaces/blank slates on Peerspace.com or eventup.com
