As some know, FH and I were forced to cancel our big wedding due to an unfortunate circumstance. As of right now we're looking into a venue that has an "elopement package" for up to 30 guests. The event will be 2 hours long and no reception. We would do a lunch/dinner at a nearby restaurant or...

Would you still hire a videographer for that amount of time? Do you think it would be worth it?

Oh wow. Well then with you doing that, I'm sure it will come out just fine! More hands on would release some stress from not knowing what it would like ahead of time.

I guess? Haha, or maybe I'm crazy for even wanting to do it. And just cause I'm neurotic, I've also requested the raw files for our photos. Your profile says you work in the industry, so you could totally do it too!

I have like the basic knowledge for video editing lol. I went to school for it and I feel so cheated lol but as far as photos, FH is a graphic designer and he's pretty damn good at it. So even if we asked for the raw files from our photographer, I feel pretty confident that FH could do it but I don't know if he'd want to lol.

I have even less basic knowledge of video editing! Either way, if we choose to edit it ourselves (video and/or photos) it'll come out the way we want it, so it's a winwin Smiley smile

The photographer i am booking is going to include video of the ceremony in our package. he is doing 4 hours of coverage and all the photos (no reception) w/ the video and wedding album for $1400. I really wanted a video of the ceremony to look back on since i know there may be some moments that we dont get to see being caught up on the moment.

    I'd say do it!

Yea, that's awesome. Congrats on that catch. We have a tour with the venue tomorrow so I'll be sure to ask. Thank you!

If you can afford it, why not? Regardless of the size of your wedding you can still have amazing footage of: getting ready, ceremony, venue, decor, and guests.

You're absolutely right. I didnt even think of getting ready or the venue itself. I can definitely draw it out a little. My mind was just set for those little 2 hours wondering if it would just look crammed. Thank you!

We're doing a larger formal wedding with no videographer. It's just so expensive for something we won't watch many times. We're looking to hire a local college student from the film studies dept. for a lower price to do it since it's my alma mater and I know the dept is good. But we won't spend the money on a pro. Honestly, I think it comes down to prioritizing what's important to you. Pics were more important to us, so we went with pro photography. I don't think you can go right or wrong here as long as you get what you want most. Good luck!

Hmm....didnt think of that. I know someone who is amazing at video but either won't charge or charge very little. Thanks for that idea.
