Smear proof lipstick?

So I am doing my own makeup for my wedding, just can’t afford to have it done professionally and I don’t trust the cheap local makeup places nearby since they always recommend the wrong shade of foundation 😂 Went to Sephora with my fam and got all the makeup I’ll need. So I am doing my own makeup for my wedding, just can’t afford to have it done professionally and I don’t trust the cheap local makeup places nearby since they always recommend the wrong shade of foundation 😂
Went to Sephora with my fam and got all the makeup I’ll need. It was 221$ which is 250$ less than the professional makeup artist.
I specifically asked for smear proof lipstick since well, I need it to last all day and not get on my FH when we kiss, and not to get on my teeth or etc,. She recommended Urban Decay Vice Matte lipstick in the shade “Backtalk”. I did try it on there but I did not have my FH to kiss and I didn’t even think to see if it smeared, just trusted it wouldn’t. Now I am practicing makeup and realized it smears easily, infact it all came off after eating one piece of pizza at a birthday party.
How do I smear proof it? Is there anything I can put on it? The lipstick was expensive itself so I really want to use it.
Another question, how to lessen the appearance of lines in my lips, the matte lipstick makes them stand out somewhat and I just don’t like that! I’m find with some but I don’t know it looks dry? I can’t do any expensive treatments or anything like that. But I’m up for ideas.

I'm a lipstick snob and tried every smear proof lipstick people recommended. I swear by Jeffree Star lipstick. I kiss my fiance all the time with it on and it stays golden.

First of all, how smear-proof do you need it? If you were eating pizza, the oils in the pizza broke-down the lipstick, which caused it to come off. Oil is the best way to remove makeup, intentionally or not. Smiley shame If you're worried about it being kiss-proof, you might be ok. But if you're worried about it coming off when you eat, then you might want to find another lipstick or be prepared to re-apply it throughout the night.

If you want to try to use that Vice lipstick, before you return it, try to set it using setting powder. Put the lipstick on, and blot with a tissue like you normally would to remove the excess product. Then take a clean piece of tissue and hold it tightly over your lips with your lips apart (make an "O" with your mouth). Take some setting powder and brush it over the tissue paper over your lips. This will allow just a little bit of powder to get through and will help set your lipstick. I actually find toilet paper to be the best way to do this if you tear apart the toilet paper so it's only 1-ply -- the thinner the better.

Unfortunately, because of how matte lipstick dries, it really brings out the lines in lips for anyone. If you're worried about the lines, I would stay away from liquid matte lipsticks because the liquid formula sinks into the lip lines -- try a solid matte lipstick if that's the look you want. Satin lipsticks or high-pigmented glosses are a bit more forgiving. If you really want a matte look and have a satin lip color you love, you could try setting the satin lip color with powder directly (no tissue) or use a product like Smashbox's Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. Layer it on top of your satin lipstick and it will make it matte.

I used to do make up professionally and I always used a lip liner and just filled in the whole lip. To help hydrate your lips and reduce the lines try to use an eye cream on them every night for a month or 2 before your big day!

I used "catnip" by Anastasia Beverley Hills. I put it on around 12pm, and by 10pm, after dinner, cake, and all day wear it had held up pretty well without any touch ups. We had a taco/nacho bar for dinner. ABH is my favorite matte lip. It's not that drying.

A makeup artist was 500$? That’s hard to believe...what exactly are you searching? I live in an expensive area and I haven’t seen anyone charge more than 175$...most 125 or below. Seems crazy to spend all of that money on makeup.

I searched the makeup vendors on Wedding Wire in Wilmington, called/emailed most of them what I want and they sent me a bridal sheet of prices and fees and in total it came out super high. Traveling fee was 75$ for most of them, makeup was 250$ for a plain look (not full coverage nothing like that which is def not what I wanted) full coverage made it go up not too much like 30$ but then I was told they don’t go through the trouble and travels for one person, so I considered my mom. Then that went up to around 350-400$ some of them were lower than others but still couldn’t justify the price. They are on here as vendors, they were super nice and no doubt they were good but that’s just too much, if they were local I could’ve probably got it done around 200$ but sadly no one around here does makeup the way I wanted.

I’m a little late to this discussion but I agree with Stila Stay all day. It’s my go-to and even stays on pretty well through eating and drinking. I’ve only ever had to reapply during a night out if I was eating something greasy.

I had the same problem. I went to Ulta and found Tarte non transferable gloss. I tested it yesterday and it stayed on during lunch

Good point. The only thing that has ever effected the stay all day is grease... oil.

So yes I'd have it on hand for that

But wine and cocktails and less greasy food... are all fine.

And yes girl I love this stuff!!!
