Smores, Grey Goose, or Tableside wine service?

Brandi, on July 15, 2018 at 2:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 35

Hey! So we are getting our responses back and are looking at basically 30-50 folks who won't be attending . As a result, in order to make our F & B minimum, we need to add something else to our food bill : )

Which of these would you prefer?

A S'mores Bar

Top Shelf Liquor or

Tableside wine pour.

For context we are having 4 hot passed appetizers during cocktail hour with a mid tier bar (and signature cocktail) for the rest of the night. For dinner we have a formal plated appetizer, salad, a duet entree, and of course, cake! Our venue also threw in late night snacks a few weeks ago! Leaning towards top shelf liquor or wine because there is plenty of food...what are your thoughts fellow brides?

I’d go for s’mores because they are my favorite and I’m a foodie with a sweet tooth!

It depends on how your bar system is set up and how many guests you’ll have - if you think tableside wine service will make things a lot more convenient for guests I’d do that. Otherwise, top shelf!

Does your bar include wine/champagne? That's what I would want for cocktail hour and dinner. If so, I vote for the S'mores Bar because it would be different encourage guests to mix & mingle.

The F&B at your wedding, from what you share, already sounds insanely good! I'm hungry.

I personally would do the tableside wine. I’m not a huge fan of s’mores (I always get it on my clothes :/ ) and I’m more of a wine drinker myself. That’s me though lol.

I think people would appreciate the tableside wine the most. When I am at weddings people say how much they love that.

Yes, Our current wine options are (I believe house) chardonnay, cabaret, and a champagne. Our beer is labatt, bud, heniken and corona.

If we did table side wine, folks would just basically just get a "fancier" experience of what they had during the cocktail hour without having to get up LOL as far as wine goes. It wouldn't be a better "quality" wine per say.

If we did top shelf the liquors would go from titos/captains/dewars/Buffalo Terrace to Grey Goose/Crown Royal/Bombay types, so not like an entirely different situation either....

Smiley catface people do love snacks ...

I like the liquor you already have. I wouldnt switch that unless you have a crowd which would appreciate it. Think aboit what your guests would want more. If you have a bunch of sweets people and eaters then smores, if you have people who are big wine drinkers then table side (wish I could get this) and if you have guests who drink top shelf liqour often then go with that. My crowd would probably like the smores more...bunch of beer drinking foodies hahaha

I'm with @Teresa - go with what you think your guests will want! Personally I think the tableside wine service is super nice and convenient, but if your friends and family are more into beer or mixed drinks, that service probably isn't necessary. And no matter what, I think you can't go wrong with the s'mores Smiley winking

I'm not a big drinker and don't like wine so personally, I'd love s'mores. However, I think most guests would appreciate table service more so, I'd probably opt for that if you have a lot of wine drinkers.

I was leaning toward the smores bar, but you said the venue was already providing late night snacks. So, the winner for me would be the higher tier bar.

Top shelf. At our black tie wedding not many drank the wine service or champagne toast. But they loved the top shelf bar!
