So embarrassed!

Chandra, on March 30, 2019 at 5:12 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
I got the list of names and addresses for my FHs side of the invites and one of the guests emailed today and let me know that both his AND his wife's names were spelled wrong!
I know it isnt my fault but I felt so dumb!

I had that happen for a couple people and I was sooo embarrassed. But I also copied and pasted the names from what my in laws gave me so I had to remind myself it wasn’t my fault!

I’ve had the same thing happen. There were even two people that I didn’t know the last names of when I put them in the WW guest list, I later got the last names to send the invitations but forgot to update the WW guest list so when they searched their names it just came up with their first names. I was so embarrassed for probably weeks after. With all that wedding planning entails there’s no way that every little detail can be triple checked. I would laugh about it and let it go lol

Ship* happens lol. I know the name of a street is spelled wrong on one invitation but I wasn't going to ask my coworker (paid) to redo it. It won't mess up the delivery so no big deal. I get why they told you, but also I think it's kind of petty.

Eh I'm kind of glad they told me so I can get it right for escort cards. But FH told me not to feel bad that the transliteration between Ukrainian and English can be complicated.

I made two major mistakes when addressing invitations to my husband's family. The first is that I put his cousin's wife's name as "KT" instead of Katie/Katy, which I'm pretty sure was wrong, but it's what he told me to put. The other one was all on me, though. His cousin was a single mom to a (then) preteen son, but I didn't recognize that when I was addressing invitations, and addressed their invitation to "Josh and Angela Lastname" as if they were a couple instead of mom and son. Nobody ever mentioned it, but I was so embarrassed when I realized it. 🤦

Don't feel to bad about it! We all make mistakes!

Don’t worry about it Smiley laugh I’m sure I got some wrong too. I’m shocked they let you know though. People get mine wrong all the time and I just brush it off cause really does it matter that much?

Things happen and it's not like you did it on purpose. Honestly, I am surprised they emailed to tell you that. Planning a wedding is stressful and accidents are bound to happen. Don't be too hard on yourself....I totally get how you feel though. One of my envelopes that I had addressed by the designer misspelled the last name of one of my guests. Oops! :/
