So hard to choose a hairstyle!

Katelyn, on June 18, 2021 at 12:46 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 5
I’m having the hardest time finding a hairstyle. I have SUPER long, thick hair; I love it curled & would really prefer it to be down because it’s so thick & heavy, but it’s super pretty! My wedding dress however, it’s a sheer see through back with vintage buttons going down it. I want the back of my dress to be seen as well. I’m in a predicament. My other thought is, with my veil how are people going to see the back of my dress? If anyone had this issue, what worked for you? Tips, anything? Thanks!

You could get your hair done down but all over one shoulder if it’s long enough.

People will see your hair/back of the dress at the reception when you take the veil off, so I think it’s a good idea to come up with a plan now for how you’d like your hair to be.

You could do some sort of braid, there are a lot of examples on pinterest. That would allow it back/up without being UP up and not too heavy. That would also allow to see most of the back of the dress, which would be more visible at the reception when you take the veil off. Have you booked a stylist yet? They may have a lot of suggestions too

Are you wearing your dress for the entire event? If so, you will likely remove your veil after the ceremony and photos (they're not super practical for dancing and dinner), so guests will still be able to see the back of your dress later on.

I would second the idea of having a sideswept, asymmetrical hair do. You'll have the benefit of being able to see your beautiful long hair but also a little more visibility for your face and the back of your dress.

I think a side-swept style of a low braid or ponytail would be perfect!! 🤩

My advice would be to see what you like during your hair trial! I had always envisioned that I'd have my hair down or partway-down until I saw what I looked like in an updo during my trial. I also second the tip about removing your veil after the ceremony!
