I think you're over thinking it.

As someone who has multiple and a half sleeve tattoos, you are definitely over thinking it. I have an off the shoulder dress so my half sleeve will be half covered but it never even occurred to me. It’s still need to you so you’re definitely gonna notice it all the time when you look in the mirror but once you get used to it you won’t even notice what’s covering or half covering it and no one else will either

Beautiful tattoo with a lovely meaning! I definitely don't think it will look weird if only part of the tattoo is showing. My dress was a short one that went down to just above my knees. On the side of my left thigh I have a large egret tattoo that just poked out of the bottom of the dress, and probably showed a bit more when I was dancing. I didn't feel weird about it, and nobody said anything. On a normal day, I almost always wear shorts. Even in those shorts, the head of the egret and tops of the reeds are covered. But the clothing doesn't change or cover up the meaning. It's a bit of a mind game when you first get a tattoo, but as long as you don't make a big deal of it nobody will even notice at all. They'll honestly only notice if you specifically call attention to it by saying something.
