So unique!

My brother had ice cream cake for his wedding. I thought it was awesome because I love ice cream cake whereas I don't really like most wedding cakes because either they are really unique flavors and I'm picky or they use strawberries which I'm allergic to.

Last summer we went to an anniversary party and instead of Buffett or plated dinner the couple had food trucks. It was so much fun. Although, the lines were pretty long. It was awesome! He had two different flavors - oreo and reese's. They had regular cake too, but like no one ate it. It was more just for the cake cutting photos.

My sister got married on top of a river boat in Chicago. Ceremony was done while we were on the river floating through the city itself, surrounded by the skyscrapers, and then the reception was out on Lake Michigan overlooking the skyline. They lined it up to be on a night when the city does their weekly summer fireworks display so we got to watch fireworks over the Chicago skyline from the roof of the boat while we danced! It was magical. They spent the money on the venue (boat) and skipped an expensive dress (she got a cute knee-length white dress from Nordstrom for like $100!), very very minimal decor because of the views provided by the boat, and had no wedding party. They got ready at a hotel near the boat dock, we got on the boat, and then at the end of the night went to the hotel bar for an “after party.” It was just so relaxed and fun, and the atmosphere was incredible! Definitely one of the most memorable weddings I’ve ever been to.

I didn’t attend this, because they had their wedding before we knew them, but 3 brothers married 3 sisters. I think it’s so rare.

My daughter just got married & the best, unique thing was I walked her down the aisle. Before that was 15 years ago!

My cousin and his bride at their wedding, had the band tell everyone to circle the dance floor before the couple came into the reception. So when they announced “Mr. and Mrs”, they went straight to the middle of the circle in the dance floor, surrounding all of their loved ones, and their first dance was You Sexy Thing! It was so awesome to have everyone cheering them on to a great song! The band continued to play one more fast song where everyone joined in on the dance floor before everyone sat down for dinner. It REALLY got the party started and everyone thought it was such a great grand entrance!

As a little girl, I went to my uncle and aunt’s wedding where they had a fountain cake. I thought that was AMAZING 🤩 We had a fountain cake too because of that memory!! ⛲️

I went to a fun one in high school where the couple dismissed the rows, then served 3 different flavors of half sheet cakes that were cut in front of guests as requested..full birthday cake slices and could go back for as much as you wanted. Followed by a dance at another location.

We had a swordfight with our friends at our wedding! (Some other friends of ours had a swordfight with each other before their first dance.)

Hang out with theatre people, have delightfully weird weddings to attend.

View Quoted Comment Sure!! 😊 I realize these were big back in the 80s but I love them!! The fountain makes a pretty trickling sound and is under the largest tiered cake. Hoping they make a come back!!
