Social Distance Tables

Chelsea, on August 11, 2020 at 4:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
My wedding is 11/14/20 and I’m working on the seating arrangements. How many people should I put at each table? I plan on social distance tables and I have 150 guests on my list. I know all 150 will not be present, but I was thinking families sit with families but how many should be at each table? I was guessing 5-7

Depends on the size of your tables. I am hoping to be putting 6 people per table at 5ft round tables that can fit 6-8 people

How big are they? Are you round or rectangular?

    Rounds fit 8 - 10
    Crescents 6 - 8
If your SD at a round table I’d suggest no more than 6 unless you’re assigning seating and need to place a single then go to 7

I think 5-7 people per table makes sense for tables that can normally seat 10! I would also recommend trying to group together families and/or people who have hung out with each other during the pandemic. If you have a group who are all trying to socially distance more than others, you could put them together at a separate table as well, maybe with 4-5 people at that table? I would also distance the tables at least 6-10 feet apart if possible.

My venue is big but of course it’s not football field huge and I don’t think I’ll be able to social distance 20-25 tables, 7 per table. So now I’m stuck 🤦🏽‍♀️ Any other options?

I am doing 4-5 per table. Our tables sit ten. If we have 2 couples, then it's 4 per table. If it's a family then more at a table, my highest is going to be 6

The recent wedding I attended had 2 couples per table which seats 8. Although the tables were numbered, there was no assigned tables, so we asked the coordinator where should we sit and she said anywhere. We sat with another couple who happened to be my niece and her husband. Although we are closely related, we respectively still wore our mask and were able to converse nicely. It was about 100 guest out of 300 invited, the room was very large and the SD worked out perfect. Even on the dance floor, everyone wore their mask and we all danced like no one was watching...lol. the dancing was a great outlet for us who haven't been able to do much due to the pandemic. It's been two weeks and so far no word of anyone testing positive. I'm in Florida...yay!
