Soooo let me start out by saying that my parents are paying for most of the wedding/reception. Our reception is in the backyard of my parent’s house. We are going for more of a relaxed/fun BBQ feel. We are serving buffet style Polynesian food. I wanted to purchase drink holders (something like the picture below). Well last night my Dad tells me that he doesn’t want to spend 30.00 a piece for those (we would need to buy 4). SO he asked me if I would be fine if we just did cans of pop!? I straight up told him no way!!! (like a bridzilla). But I started thinking about it.. and I’m wondering if you ladies think that would be to ghetto? Be honest please…

Just got the BB&B flyer and they have them for $19.99. There are always 20% off coupons around, and you can use up to 8 at one time I believe. Don't worry if they are expired, they take expired ones too!

Wow. Until you said something about canned soda being unacceptable, I forgot that my sisters $12,000 wedding last night had canned soda. In fact, NOT ONE PERSON THOUGHT ANYTHING OF IT! I'm doing a bbq theme at a local park, and will be doing canned soda for sure. I'm slightly offended at that ghetto term. I call it reasonable and accommodating for refreshing, cold beverages. Seriously ....there's so many other things to stress about. Soda ain't one of them.

Maybe shop around and maybe you can find the drink holders cheaper and use them for things like lemonade and tea where there is no carbonation but not things like punch where pop is added to it. A reception with a backyard bbq feel would make it okay to do pop in cans as long as you have a place to discreetly tuck the used cans away to be recycled later but I love the glass bottle idea. It looks a lot cuter and you can probably find a creative way to keep the cans or bottles cold that ties into your backyard bbq theme so it doesn't look out of place like a regular cooler would.

Could do an Italian soda station, that way all you need is one container for the sparkling water and have as many flavors as you want
