Sola flower centerpieces?

Amanda, on August 14, 2017 at 1:43 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 3

I am thinking of doing DIY sola flower centerpieces, does anyone who has done these before have any tips? My wedding colors are navy blue and pink so I was thinking of having pink and white flower centerpieces with navy blue linen. I'm just not sure if it would look okay? And Not sure what kind of vases I want/should use, My wedding is more of a vintage/rustic theme. I would love to see pictures of other centerpieces to see how they turned out!

I think that color combo sounds very pretty. What shade of pink are you using? Navy looks good with pretty much all pink.

To choose vases I'd look around the Real Weddings section of WeddingWire for inspo, or pinterest, to see what sort of rustic/vintage styles people have used before. Burlap and lace scream rustic, but there is always mercury glass, mismatched pitchers would look more vintage, watering cans would look rustic... What vase looks best will largely also depend on what your venue looks like.

I have sola flower bouquets, but not centerpieces. My advice would be to either order from an Etsy shop if you have enough time, or order the raw ones from solawoodflowers.com and dye them yourself. Avoid EcoFlower at all costs. If you dye them yourself, make sure to watch your water to paint ratio... I used too much water the first time and ruined it! Solawoodflowers.com also has pre-dyed flowers that come in tons of colors and styles if you'd like to DIY the arrangement but not the dyeing.

I've attached photos my sola flower centerpieces. My colors were cranberry and rose gold. I bough planters from save on crafts and painted them rose gold, then glued a ribbon around the sides.
