Song Choice

Anonymous, on December 6, 2018 at 6:23 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13
Has anyone ever heard of anyone using Haley Reinhardt’s cover of Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis to walk down the aisle to? All of our song choices so far have been really unique. FH and my mom like the idea but say they’ve never even thought of that song as a processional. Thoughts?

Isn’t that the processional song used in “Crazy, Rich, Asians”? If so, it’s beautiful! Highly recommend watching the movie, but especially that scene

If you both love the song go for it! Nothing says you must use X song. It will be much more memorable if it's a song you love.

That’s acrually where I got the idea! I’m thinking of using that version. But I don’t want the fact that it was recently used in a popular movie to overshadow our moment.

I’ve played it on violin for brides plenty of times and the recording would be really pretty too.

We used an instrumental version of Can't Help Falling In Love for our wedding party to walk down to. It's a beautiful song.

Since Crazy Rich Asians, it has become a very popular processional song. It's a really lovely song/version. I'm waiting for the photos of brides wading through a river wearing glitter tights next, though. LOL

It doesn't matter what people have heard in processions before - this is your wedding you do what you want!

We had our bridal party walk down to an instrumental version of Africa by Toto so I'm definitely in the "don't worry about what's traditional" group.

I love that song! If it fits, use it. If you don't want to do that exact one, Ingrid Michaelson has a version that is very similar.

I don't mean to come in here and maybe mess things up, but I just want to mention that I'm pretty sure the Crazy Rich Asians version of the song is sung by Kina Grannis and not Haley Reinhart. They're both beautiful versions, and great processional songs either way, but I just wanted to clear that up. Smiley smile

Thank you! I did know that - I had planned to use the Crazy Rich Asians version, not the Haley Reindhart version. I didn’t mention the Crazy Rich Asians version because I was afraid it would overpower our moment that it was from a popular movie.

Ah, okay! Smiley smile I originally thought it was the Haley Reindhart version and then I looked it up and listened to it and I was like, "Something is off about this." Like I said though, great song to walk down the aisle to, regardless of popular movie!
