Song Request Cards

Bianca, on August 23, 2016 at 2:44 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

I'm not sure if this is a tacky subject on this site or if I can share files with you all...but I created song request cards for my invitations and can share with any DIY folks who want one less project. You just need to print on cardstock and cut them. My family is from so many backgrounds that I was curious what they might want to hear.

Here's a link to the one I created. Feel free to take it and personalize it:

I printed song request places on shipping labels (super cheap) and placed them with the invite. The top line said "Please help us build our playlist with your favorite dance/karaoke songs and place this label on the back of your RSVP card before mailing." All but a small handful did just that. We had a karaoke DJ and lines marked for dance and sing, so our karaoke list was built for the DJ in advance as well.

I don't think song request cards are tacky. I actually wanted to do that as part of my bridal shower (not at the wedding itself) that way you can keep the ones you like, ditch the ones you don't and prep it for the DJ before the main event.

Some DJ's hate stuff like this. Some guests will be waiting to hear their song all night or will keep bothering the DJ to play the song that they requested through the bride and groom. What if you hate the guests song choice, or its on your do not play list?

You can just upload it on google doc and share the link here. That way none of the ladies have to put their e-mails here in public forum.

    Thank you for sharing.

If we don't like a song or find that it doesn't fit we won't add it. But I think it will help at least get a sense of what will get our crowd up.

Thanks OuidaNLuis.... Here is the link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1W310htrNbai7pjQanaDVSMxyDuchw3J7UKYUi4MZ8ck/edit?usp=sharing

    Enjoy!

I included a small line on the bottom of my RSVP, that said I promise to play if ______________

as RSVPS come in, I have a spreadsheet for songs and one for guest count.

If the song was on the do not play list, I excluded for those that were questionable, I will include them and the DJ can phase out more quickly based on the crowd.

I'll post the link in the description. If it's not super amazing...I apologize in advance, but it's in Word, so feel free to personalize it. I should have added the line to my RSVPs but I didn't think about this until later. You guys are smarter than this gal. lol

I don't think it's tacky. In my RSVP I put "I will definitely be up dancing if the DJ plays _____"

@futureMrs.Dyson I'm so jelly of your wedding date. I wanted that date but couldn't find any reasonable venues that I liked available. ??
