Songs that would be funny/inappropriate for a Wedding

Kathryn, on February 21, 2015 at 1:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 25

I'm listening to my old country music while I clean today and the Dixie Chicks came on and it got me thinking about inappropriate songs to be played at a wedding.

Can you think of any songs that would be funny/weird to play at a wedding? What are the lyrics that make it bad?

Dixie Chicks: White Trash Wedding

Mama don't approve

Daddy says he's the best in town

And mama don't approve

You can't afford no ring

You can't afford no ring

I shouldn't be wearing white and you can't afford no ring

Meatloaf: Paradise by the Dashboard Light ( My favorite song)

So now I'm praying for the end of time

To hurry up and arrive

'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you

I don't think that I can really survive

I'll never break my promise or forget my vow

But God only knows what I can do right now

I'm praying for the end of time

It's all that I can do

Praying for the end of time,

So I can end my time with you!

Maybe it's just that my friends/family are slightly twisted, but that Meatloaf song is a staple at weddings lol. The guys and girls line up opposite each other and sing back and forth.

That is awesome Megan! It was on my mom playlist for her wedding and I plan on playing it at ours!

    LOL meatloaf is awesome.

Billy Idol – White Wedding would be a funny song to play at a wedding.

Also The Rains of Castamere would be a great song to play at a wedding. ;D

Faith Hill - Dearly Beloved... pretty funny song and my family would find the humour in it, but FH's family certainly would not.

We keep joking about doing our first dance to "let's call the whole thing off." FH also really wants our first dance to be Nasty Boy. He's kidding. I think.

It is an older song, and should really not be played at a wedding..."He's just a Jigalow (sp?)" Really bad taste, sorry for my spelling.

    Sexual feeling? lol

This reminds me of that one post where the bride was going to have her sorority sisters sing their "secret handshake song" to the groom - and it was about getting a handjob.

She said she was joking.... not sure I bought it... haha

My aunt's wedding had an older crowd (think 45+) and no one was dancing. The dance floor was empty other than me and my younger cousins (I was 21). All of a sudden, the DJ started playing "My Humps." So awkward. No, Mr. DJ, I do not want to dance to my humps in front of a bunch of little old ladies!

Oh and how about the song Strokin' by Clearance Carter. It's about masturbating lol - Stroke it to the east, stroke it to the west, stroke it to the lady that I love the best! haha Heard that for the first time last summer at a barbecue. Little kids were dancing to it.

FH keep joking that we're going to have our first dance to "Every breath you take" like all of the confused couples in 1984. We're not totally sold on eliminating and might play the beginning of it before switching to our real song (still TBD).

@Allison- We are actually doing "shots" by LMFAO right after we get married. Although we are getting married on the beach in Jamaica and are handing out shots! It's going to be fun. And Weird.

At one of my weddings, the newly-weds recessed down the aisle to "Another One Bites the Dust."

When one of my brothers got married, another brother & I kept singing "Please Release Me, Let Me Go" and our mom was ready to kill us!

I almost picked "Move Bitch" by Ludacris for the bouquet toss song. I still think that would be hilarious, especially with my friends and family!

Hoe's Aint Loyal - Chris Brown

    Area Codes - Luda

    Crazy Bitch - Buckcherry

Bend Ova - Lil John ft Tyga.

I am a DJ, I dj clubs, weddings, and corp events. Songs have a proper place and time, none of these songs I mentioned belong in a wedding. But all appropriate for a club environment.
