Songs to play

Kelly, on September 5, 2022 at 10:12 PM Posted in Planning 1 8
What were some of your songs you played for things like bridal party walking down the aisle, parents walking down the aisle, walking down the aisle after saying I do, entering the reception, mom/son, father/daughter, etc?

Just trying to see what everyone else did and get some recommendations. Only thing I really have picked out is the song I'm walking down the aisle to, my first dance, and my father/daughter dance songs.

Choosing the music was the one thing I had a hard time deciding on but ended up loving our choices.
My bridal party walked in to an instrumental version of Van Morrison's 'Crazy Love' https://youtu.be/NvdqykDerVU. My dad and I walked in to a cello version of 'Thinking Out Loud' https://youtu.be/fHNgOlHA8wQFor the reception, our parents walked in to 'Wind Beneath My Wings'. The bridal party walked in to Black Eyed Peas 'I Got A Feeling'. My husband and I walked in to Stevie Ray Vaughn's 'Pride and Joy' https://youtu.be/0vo23H9J8o8. That's not a typical reception entrance song but we love him and the song so it fit us and made it feel unique and personal to us.

My wedding isn’t until a month from now but here’s what I’m planning:
Bridal party ceremony: Married life from up (piano and violin cover) by Paul hankinson
Bride entrance: turning page acoustic version by jae hall
We’re all entering to About damn time by Lizzo for the reception. We have such a small bridal party that changing songs would be silly so while the song is playing we’ll just have him announce us
Then first dance is to Calling you by Justin furstenfeld
I don’t know about parent dance yet. We’re doing a dual dance. Me with my dad and him with his mom at the same time because I reallyyyyy don’t want to dance with my father so this will make me less uncomfortable.
We still need a recessional song as well

We literally just finalized these last night. It was pretty hard and we have a crazy mix of stuff, but we're happy with it all.

For the ceremony, we have grandparents/parents walking down to an instrumental version of Thought Contagion by Muse. Bridal party will walk down to the Forrest Gump Feather Theme, and I'm walking down to Kaleo's live version of I Want More. The recessional will be Forever and Ever, Amen by Randy Travis.

We're only doing a grand entrance with the two of us, and that's the intro to Rocket by Def Leppard. Mother/son dance is My Wish by Rascal Flatts and the father/daughter dance is My Little Girl by Tim McGraw.

We're getting married in a Catholic church, so our ceremony songs were pretty limited. Processional will start with "Canon in D," my dad and I will walk down the aisle to "Here Comes The Bride," and "The Wedding March" will be used for the recessional.

For the reception, we're using "Marry Me" by JLo for everyone to walk in.

We just finalized all our music last night for our wedding next Saturday. For the ceremony our parents and the bridal party will walk down to You are the reason violin cover by Nanda Candra. Then I’m walking to For the love of a princess by Braveheart soundtrack. Then after we say I do me and my soon to be hubby will walk to This will be and ever lasting love by Natalie Cole. For the reception my bridal party will walk in to Sugar by Maroon 5 and then me and my hubs will walk to Marry you by Bruno Mars. Our first dance song is You’re still the one by Shania Twain. Our cake cutting song is I can’t help myself by The four tops and then I choose a last dance which will be I don’t want to miss a thing by Aerosmith 🤗

We're entering the reception to "Light Up" by Styx. The wedding party will process to "Trumpet Tune in C Major" by Henry Purcell. The recessional will be "Le Nozze de Figaro" by Mozart. My fiance and I will process together to "Rondeau et Fanfares" by Mouret.
