Songs to walk down the aisle. Help!

Alecia, on August 13, 2020 at 11:23 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7
Okay, so since we got engaged I knew I wanted the song that I walk down the aisle to be special and something I connect with and my FH. But so far we have been struggling to be on the same page as far as our taste. While Cannons in D is pretty, I don't want to do it because of how often and stereotypical it is. I love somewhere over the rainbow, you are the reason, and I get to love you by ruelle. We have the option for live band for either guitar OR violin. They would be separate bands so could not collaborate. The possibility for a piano but it would be harder for a friend to do it and get a piano to our venue.

So, I need to know what songs you guys suggest for that classic but unique song to walk down the aisle. We will be meeting with our dj soon to see if he as any suggestions but I wanted to check with all of you first. Thank you!

Our parents are walking down to an instrumental cover of Your Song by Elton John ( I almost picked this for myself) bridal party is walking down to an instrumental cover of Perfect by Ed Sheeran and I am walking down to an instrumental cover of Can’t help falling in Love by Elvis. I love Instrumentals.

I walked to Iz's "Over the Rainbow" - I still have all the feels when I hear it.

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere over the rainbow / wonderful life

I recently found a song that we absolutely fell in-love with - The Prayer - Josh Groban and Charlotte Church - but we're only using the first 2 minutes.

My favorite wedding processional will always be Ave Maria

My bridal party is walking down to an instrumental of Beauty and the Beast (because I’m a Disney freak) and I’m walking down to an instrumental of Perfect by Ed Sheeran. I went back and forth a lot on what I wanted to walk down to so some of the others I considered were A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, which sounds WONDERFUL via violin or piano, I Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis, and Amazed by Lone Star (all my choices were instrumental). If you need some inspiration, check out the Piano Guys on YouTube. They do a ton of songs you hear on the radio but instrumental and a lot are meant for weddings. They helped me make my decision!

I found this song on youtube called Twelve Year (Reprise). Didn’t like the sterotypical Canon in D either.

You can download the sheet music for them to play at your wedding, or just download the MP3 from their website. www.twelveyear.com/store
Worked out great... felt special to use something no one heard before... Beautiful song for walking down the aisle.

I saw a wedding on youtube where the bride walked to an instrumental of the Jurassic Park theme song Smiley xd and heard about another where the bride walked to an instrumental of Welcome to the Jungle.

Personally, I chose an acoustic version of a really beautiful trance song Smiley smile the vocals in a lot of trance music are gorgeous.
