Sorta Father/daughter Dance Songs

Morgan, on May 2, 2020 at 5:39 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

At my wedding, I'm going to have a father/daughter dance, but not with my father. I'll be dancing with a very close family friend who has taken care of my mom and I so much more than my real dad ever did. The night I asked if he would dance with me at my wedding was incredibly emotional and I know it meant a lot to the both of us, and I want to make sure I have a good song for it. A lot of songs that people suggest are the very conventional ones that really cater to an actual father and daughter and I could use some help thinking of a song that would be perfect for our situation. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! (Preferably classic rock)

A song I always listened to growing up was “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman. He is a religious singer, but the song is just about a daddy watching his girl grow up and getting married. So touching!

Any song about love and friendship sounds appropriate. Is there a song that reminds you of him or the relationship you have?

Anything classic rock and classic country makes me think of him, but no particular songs really.
