Have you started looking into a caterer yet? They will be able to tell you what they have available and what works well together. Typically you will want to have two entrees and a vegetarian option, and a few side items. What kind of soul food are you thinking?

Many of those options can come from a BBQ restaurant.

Do you have a local restaurant that serves the food you want? They might provide either full service or drop off catering.

It sounds like you already have some good ideas in mind! You know, most of what you list in a previous reply is available through BBQ caterers. We're doing Famous Dave's...they have baked chicken, potato salad, mac n cheese, collard greens, salad, and cornbread muffins. As well as other options that would fit your food theme! For a buffet with 2 meats 3 sides it's like $12/p.p. so you could probably afford to still bring in seafood salad and deviled eggs and just put it at a separate station or use it during cocktail hour. You might be able to order those two things through a nice grocery store deli.

I'd make sure nobody has a shellfish allergy before I chose seafood salad.
