Southern Comfort Food - Catering in North Texas

Heather, on October 6, 2020 at 8:56 PM Posted in Texas Planning 0 9

My daughter is getting married in December, so we need to make a decision soon about catering. However, we haven't had a lot of luck finding an affordable caterer who offers what my daughter and her fiancee really want.

They want it to feel like a family Thanksgiving dinner, with a relaxed formal vibe and traditional southern Thanksgiving foods: turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, rolls, sweet potato casserole, broccoli rice casserole, a winter salad, sausage balls, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, bacon wrapped cheese balls...

My daughter also has Celiac disease, so the menu needs to be gluten free. Thankfully most of the foods on their list are naturally gluten free. Although, even after making it clear that she has Celiac, one caterer added gluten in the form of crumbles on top or phyllo dough to the naturally gluten free items in their proposal Smiley sad Our guest will probably be around 200.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this type of food? Thanks in advance!

Browse Thumbtack.com and be very clear what you need. A good caterer (or any vendor) worth their salt will gladly accommodate special requests.

I second this! Any opportunity to also look at Yelp for a restaurant option just to compare?

I would recommend Eddie Deen's Catering. The food is delicious, and I believe they would have what you are looking for.
