Sparkler Holder

whitney, on July 14, 2011 at 3:32 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

We are giving out sparklers and matches at the end of the night for our exit instead of birdseed, bubbles, etc. I have attached the matches to the sparklers with this really cute ribbon, my only problem is I can't find anything to put the sparklers in at the reception. Any ideas???

We're doing the same and I purchased vases - which will then be filled with water for after the sparklers have been lit.

How big are your sparklers? I would suggest a large mouthed vase or two with some ribbon wrapped around them. I don't think it needs to be too fancy since its purpose would only be to hold them until the end of the night.

Hope your're not superstitious. Holding your reception in Burns, TN and you're giving out Sparklers?! I hate those things, more dangerous than most fireworks. My uncle had one burn THROUGH a bone.

Just as a side note, if you're planning on making a "Grand exit" and having all the sparklers fired up at once, you won't want people using matches to light them.

Unless they're long matches, most aren't long enough to bring it to ignition point. You need a group of sparkler lighters. They all need to light one and then use that one to light more and hand them off. Worst case, use a butane/cigarette lighter, if its windy, that will be difficult. You really need a propane torch to quickly ignite them.

Or you can work in a line, where one person lights, and it is like a processional, where that person lights the sparkler next to them, and it moves down the line.

And buckets of sand would be a good idea to put the hot used sparklers into!
