sparklers at the end of reception?

Kelly, on May 10, 2013 at 4:19 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I was thinking about ordering sparklers to do at the end of the reception and maybe to get a couple photo ops for FH and myself. Is anyone else doing this? If so where are you getting yours? We are having 200 people and I figured we'd have to get the 36 inch ones. I also thought about ordering personalized match boxes so people would have something to light them with, but I was told that's a bad idea...

Our venue will allow them. Actually the person who is the coordinator is the one who suggested it.

We did them. I bought them from http://www.sayanythingceramics.com/product/SPARKLERS_20_inch_wedding.html - the cheapest I could find, and no shipping charges. We used the 20" ones. The package comes with 2 smaller lighting sparklers. Guest used those and several long lighters, which we also provided. Better than matches. The only requirement from our venue is that it had to be done outdoors (duh) and we had to provided a galvanized bucket to fill with water to extinguish the spent wires.

I just bought them today. My wedding planner suggested these: www.sparklersonline.com/wedding-sparklers-20-inch

She said she's had people use other types and they didn't work out as well. She also said the 36 inch burn too long for most exits. Good Luck!

One thing to consider if your photographer is talented is to use the sparklers to spell out something or make a heart etc with a longer exposure. I received a thank you note with the B&G making a heart a couple of months ago. Really a great shot! Another couple I deejayed for were surprised when their bridal party had spelled out their names and "LOVE" in other pics. Something that is unique and worthy of hanging up on a wall. Make sure you have a bucket or two of sand to put them out in!

    Have fun and Congrats!

When I went to a wedding with sparklers the water did not put the sparklers out! They were way too long and burned forever, maybe try a bucket of sand? Or maybe it was just those sparklers but you might want to test one out just in case.

They did however look great in all the pictures :]
