Sparklers..Where to put them?!

sarah, on September 22, 2013 at 2:49 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

We have obviously chose the famous sparkler idea! i love it and i am excited, but i do not know where i should put them! should i put them on the tables since they are tied with my matchbox favors? or on a display table? i thought the table may be a good idea that way everyone gets a sparkler and doesn't miss out, but then i thought it would look nicer to have a display. any suggestions?

What about putting them in a vase or two or maybe a bucket or box by the exit doors so everyone will grab one right before walking out and you will not risk having kids run around with them and brake them because one of the waiters or bridesmaid could put them there before its time. You can also add a sweet sign like "Send us of with sparks and keep the matches for your special time" or something like that. I am not always good at coming up with things on the spot.

I just ordered this sign and these matches! I am going to put them somewhere in a silver bucket or vase with the bowl of matches next to it.

Here's my matches, our "theme" is red birds. These matches are $25 for 100 on theknot wedding shop. Not sure if I was allowed to post that.

I would have an usher distribute them later. DontDon't forget to tell a time so people light them all together!

We filled a large metal bucket with sand (venue required it due to the fire hazard) and stuck the sparklers in there. During the last song, the DJ made an announcement about the sparklers and my DOC brought out the bucket. While guests were lining up and lighting their sparklers, the DJ played one last song just for my husband and I, and we danced alone to "Wonderful Tonight". Then we ran through the sparklers. It was magical.

I had them on display on the table with the guest book and favors. I had a chalkboard sign that said sparkler exit at 10 pm so people knew not to take them until the end of the night.

Oh, I wanted to do sparklers but no sparklers allowed at our venue. Well, supposedly. I've seen sparkler pics from the venue but they said it was a no. We would have had to pay our photographer an extra hour anyhow. Our 8 hour package will be finished at 10 and our party goes to 11. We need to start around 2 for First Look shoot.

Post pics when you get them!

I wouldn't put them at each table as they would be a temptation to play with lol. I like making them into a decor item in a vase or container.

I agree with some of these other ladies, I think distributing them separately is a good idea because you don't want to risk kids getting ahold of them or if someone gets drunk, you don't want to get a hold of them either lol.

When we went to look at our venue, they were setting up for a wedding that day. They had the sparklers outside by the door in big tall vases. I really liked how it looked. That way guests can grab one when they make it outside.

We would assign an Aunt or Uncle that one job...to keep the sparklers and hand them out when you want to run the sparkler gauntlet. Also, we advise our wedding photography clients wanting sparklers to do them mid evening, not as a get away, but as an activity for two reasons, you will have all your guests there to participate, to enjoy and get a full gauntlet of people in the photographs and you avoid potential problems with some that drink a little too much. We have coordinated many of these with the DJs. Also, if the venue won't let you do sparklers you might consider bubbles they photograph beautifully. Happy Planning Glenn and Lilet

We put them in a vase, each of them had a card on them, and they were right by the door and our dj made an announcement after the last song to have everyone go outside, grab a sparkler and get ready. We used 20 inch sparklers, so they would last until we got out there. We did a special dance just the two of us and our dj while we waited for everyone to get ready.

Yeah, there's a lot of great options, but we usually recommend putting your wedding sparklers into your centerpieces when a couple asks.
