Speakeasy Reception

Allie, on September 10, 2022 at 6:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
So I could be over thinking this but our reception is in a speakeasy. It’s hidden in the wall of a hotel and has a completely separate entrance that is hidden from the public. I’m literally obsessed with it however….

They had us create a password for our guests to get in but guess who completely forgot to put that password on the invites? 😅
Do I send a mass text or?

I love that! Maybe after you get the RSVPs back you could send a text or postcard in the mail? I think you should be fine. Even if you did include it on the original invitation, I would assume many guests would forget to bring the password.

This is very clever! I think if you were to send a text people would still forget. I can see people asking the day of ‘what’s the password’. Although, if you have time, like Bird said, you could send a postcard.

Is the ceremony in a different place? If so you could give the guests the password at the ceremony.

I guess if they forget the password (even if hearing it at the ceremony) that they can get it from someone else trying to get in. I would be one who forgot it that easily.

I think the postcard idea mentioned by Bird would be a cute idea! I do see your wedding is Sept 30th though so you would need to mail now to be safe. Email is also another idea. We used that to send out reminders about the parking situation to our guests that RSVP’d yes.

I think a separate card is a cute idea. Sort of like how when speakeasies were kept on the downlow, and they were a "separate" event from the main event. You could word it something like, "You've been invited to a highly exclusive event. Make sure to mention [password] to gain entrance" or something.

Another idea would be to add the password to your programs (if you're having them), or to make separate cards that would be handed out at/ after the ceremony.
