Unfortunately, there are not many near me that rent out speakers. The majority of them only do table, chairs, linens, etc.

In that case, is a low cost dj on thumbtack.com an option? Do not purchase anything unless you intend to get alot of use out of it afterward.

Is there a Guitar Center near you? They do more than sell and rent instruments. They also rent out speakers and other sound equipment for rent. If not, check out Amazon . . . they have everything! I've seen several couples on this forum mention purchasing bluetooth speakers and microphones from Amazon. Just be sure to check the item description and reviews.

There are some portable PA systems with wireless microphones on amazon - you should check them out and compare price & reviews!

I ran into this problem with the traditional wedding vendors, but once I expanded my search terms to include "party rentals", "equipment rentals", or just "PA speaker rental", I got a lot more options. From what I've seen, fewer companies do the tent/linens/dinnerware *and* things like speakers, but there are many options for PA rental separately! There's an online business (crate-av.com) that will ship the equipment to you, might be worth looking into them. It's likely more expensive with the shipping though, their website says packages start at $300 and I found rentals for cheaper than that in my area.
