Specific Elopement Locations??

Carmen, on July 27, 2018 at 5:33 PM Posted in Wisconsin Planning 0 6
Hey Beautiful Brides-to-be! I have a random question that I'm having a hard time finding the answer to...

My fiance and I have talked about having a friend get ordained to marry us, but still keeping it quiet, more so eloping than a wedding. Are there rules as l far as where a super small eloping ceremony can take place? We have a specific tourist attraction in mind (the House on the Rock in WI), and would ultimately like to be able to go, find a cool spot, and do a super short ceremony with me, him, our officiant, and a witness or two. We don't care if it's open and tourists are walking through... I know I could probably call and ask the attraction, but I thought I'd get some input here first.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I would call and check with the venue itself. Around here there are a lot of places like parks, beaches, and historical sites that do not care about that small of a ceremony taking place, but better safe than sorry.

    I second that.

We are getting married on the beach in front of my best friends house. I found out we have to have a permit, even though it is small. The State of California wants $200 for us to say I do on their sand.

I would check with the venue so you don't run into any awkward moments as the ceremony goes on.

We are getting married on a hiking trail in Colorado (we are from NY) with my FHs best friend as the officiant and my best friend and our witness. You should def call and ask, or check online, I found a ton of info by just googling things. Or call the local town clerk. When I called the clerk in Co, she was super helpful and informative..
