Lol. Men can never really surprise us can they?

My husband and I were together for 7 years before he proposed and he was so secretive and nervous about that date night that I knew something was up. But I had no idea he would propose the way he did.

    Beautiful story, congrats!

FH and I love picnics, so he took me on a picnic to this beautiful neighborhood park. I’d been a little suspicious that maybe he would propose, but he changed location less than 24 hours before the picnic so I assumed he wouldn’t have done that if he had a photographer!

He brought chocolate strawberries that we’d made the night before and a Bluetooth speaker so we could dance together. He set up his phone to video us dancing to our song, I Swear by John Michael Montgomery, and I thought he was going to propose but the song died down and then This Is It by Scotty McCreery came on. There’s a verse that says “girl I know that you’ve been waiting, talking to your friends, wondering where and wondering if and wondering when, I’ve bern waiting too, holding on to this ring, for the right words to say for the right time and place to get on one knee....this is it, this is now, this is what I’v been dreaming about” and he got down then and there and proposed!

My sister was there, shooting the whole time, and we got a video AND photos of the whole thing! I am so thankful and so excited to marry the man of my dreams!!

My fiance came to take me on a date, but before we left he insisted on showing me something in the backyard (it was dark). He asked me to close my eyes and lead me to the back. When I opened them there were fairy lights and lanterns everywhere and our families were there watching. I looked down and he was on his knee and proposed.

I love reading these 💕 he had everything planned out & a ring for 7 months! He proposed in front of Niagara Falls the night before my birthday after dinner with all our friends! After we ate everyone split up and we decided to meet up later for drinks (they were really going down to the falls to get everyone else in place, decorate our hotel room, and meet up with his photographer friend who captured the moment). When we were walking down to the falls I was like “this is so cute, let’s take a selfie” later looking back on that pic he was soooo nervous 😂 but I had no idea what was about to happen. It was beautiful and perfect 💕

We were laying in bed talking about buying a house. He suggested that maybe we should get married before we buy a house together. I said, “well?” and he asked me to marry him 🥰

It was perfect for us, marriage never seemed important to me and he never thought he’d get married again. He wouldn’t let me tell people until he got me a ring. We ordered one online and it was signature required on delivery. I missed the UPS guy by a couple minutes and ended up using the UPS app to track him down because I was not going to wait another day!!

The week of our proposal was long I knew he was going to propose soon because we're long distance and had been trying to set a date for the wedding but I didn't know when, we did activities all week and everytime we went out I thought he was going to propose. We went to a nice breakfast one day and the next we went to the aquarium day after that we went to a fancy beautiful restaurant over seeing downtown still nothing we had a cookout at home nothing and then one morning we went to see the sunrise and we got cookies and milk and sat by the lake once the sun starting shining on us he got a note out of his pocket and read some of it and then made me read some of it. He proposed the same way he asked me to be his girlfriend at the end of the letter is said "if you would look at me for the most important question I'll ever ask you" I put the letter down and he was on his knee with the ring and asked me to marry him I was crying so much everything was blurry but it was so special and I love that memory so much 🥰

It’s great hearing all these romantic proposals. I can honestly say my proposal wasn’t romantic, I always wanted one (this will be my second marriage). My FH and I had taken two of our kids to the mall to walk around. Sears was closing in the mall so we were checking out the deals. While standing in a long line, he mentions he is going to look at jewelry (we had earlier spoke about a necklace). Almost to the cashier he text me to come to jewelry when I was done. Well, it still took forever to get through line so he came back with a small bag. I asked what he bought and he said it’s a surprise. I can honestly say I thought it was a necklace. We then walked to a place where we waited for him to get a chair massage. After that as we walked out and he said you want to see your surprise? I said sure. He gave me a bag that held a silk necklace holder. When I felt it I was like “must be thinnest necklace in the world”. When I opened it I saw the ring. I was so shocked that I closed the flap on the container quickly. Then it registered with me. I re-opened it and pulled out the ring. He was smiling but didn’t get down on one knee or even technically ask me. So I kept asking him...what is this? Of course I was smiling. The kids didn’t even know what was happening. So I then teased him since he wasn’t saying anything and said...this is a great promise ring. I said that because every time he walked by jewelry store he would ask the lady if they sell promise rings (as a joke). So he finally said try it on. Then he said “I just moved up the ladder from boyfriend to fiancé”. That’s when it really hit me on what was happening. He then took me to my favorite restaurant to eat and ordered a bottle of wine.
