Are you splurging or saving on invitations?

Saved! We did 50 invites for $10. We didn't want to spend a lot on something that wouldn't contribute to the guest experience.

Save. They are mostly going to end up in the trash anyway.

Save! We’re looking to either do VistaPrint or a graphic designer friend.

I'm saving. I'd rather splurge on other things that everybody can enjoy a lot more!

Save! I had them designed, but printed and assembled them myself.

It's obviously personal preference but I would say save. And if you can DIY then you can make them yourself. I'll have spent a total of $80 on my invitations (approximately 90 of them) with enough supplies to mail the save the dates and make the thank you cards. We got card stock that can print on our printer and then a slightly heavier card stock to double layer them ourselves. I ordered cheap envelopes from envelopes.com, and then to make them feel a little more beefy I'm going to line the envelopes myself (super easy to do, there are a bunch of tutorials for it). I also got envelope sizes that could fit into my printer so I could print addresses on it. I used craft store ribbon as a belly band (can always find a 40% off coupon if its not a sale day. Or if you are a teacher like me you get a discount even on top of sale items). The one test invitation I've done looks great, just takes A LOT of time and patience. (But again, I'm a teacher so I have the whole summer to do this for my April wedding). I'm also doing a more simple just fancy text with a few decorative designs invitation, as I personally prefer the simple look. My goal is including printed save the dates (from vistaprint - we wanted our picture on these and didn't want to totally kill our printer) and postage to keep this cost under $250.

Saving! Soo many other important aspects to focus on for a wedding, and this one seems like a huge money drain.

I'm still working on it, but I'm looking/hoping to save! Not doing anything fancy, just simple!

I think I am somewhere in the middle? To my surprise, I think invitations are the most excited I have gotten about anything wedding related so far. I'm obsessing. We are doing semi-custom invites through a designer but we are splurging a bit on coaster save the dates and wax seals and belly bands for the invites.

The guest list is about 90, mostly family groups, so we're expecting about 65 or so. I spent $20 on our RSVP card, but could have only spent half that since I got too many. Most of our guests thought those were the invitations themselves and already RSVDed online Smiley xd I think it'll be about $20 for the graphic designer, and like another $65 for invites .
