Splurge! We didn’t go out of budget of course but definitely spent more than we anticipated. After looking through several portfolios and comparing prices we really saw you get what pay for and decided to splurge a bit for better quality work

Definitely splurging and going way over the projected budget from the wedding wire budget calculator. I figure photographs are what last the rest of your life from this day, so it's okay to splurge.

We definitely splurged on our photographer. We wanted a photographer who had a style we liked and we went with a package higher than their basic package.

We're trying to save on most everything, so photographer is no different. We went with a photographer whose work we loved, but for a shorter amount of time. I found photographers who would do the whole day for the same price, but the quality of photos wasn't there. I would rather have fewer high quality pictures than a whole lot of mediocre ones.

I chose to save which I regret.

We used a newer photographer and she missed a lot of moments we will never get to relive in pictures. I have no pictures of our recessional. She decided to get creative about it and it looked horrible.

Photography is the only thing that I did NOT plan on skimping on. Photos last forever.

Splurge! How can you not? They are who capture all the memories for down the road when you want to look back on the day.

I'll probably be the only one saying this but we're saving here.

We hired a photographer who is still working on her portfolio. Less expensive but her photos are gorgeous.

We splurged here, but I regret spending as much as we are. I think we would have been fine with a little bit smaller of a package. While I agree that you can't recapture the moments, I also feel strongly that I'd rather be spending more time with my guests than taking photos. There should be a happy medium.

Splurge! But only for the guy who I think is hands down the best wedding photographer I’ve ever seen. His photos were artistic and amazing before Pinterest ever existed for ideas! Plus the package we bought includes so much that it’s completely worth the price.

Was gonna splurge but didn't have to. Found a photographer and booked her at 1/4th the average cost because she was inexperienced with weddings. A few weeks later there was a bridal expo in town and she got major exposure. She booked 5 weddings (at regular price) that will take place before mine so she will indeed get needed experience but we booked her at the inexperienced price.

I feel we're saving while splurging. The photographer we booked is a professional but I happened to get her while she had a deal going on. We're probably going to splurge more though because we're going to add some upgrades to the package that she offers.

Save. I chose an experienced photographer who was new to wedding photography. I'm sure we would've gotten more great shots if we had splurged, but I don't regret it. She worked hard at it and did a really good job. I still love looking back at our pictures.

I checked out many photographers, and splurged. I didn't want to settle at all, but didn't go too crazy.

Our photog is included in our planners package but I am adding more time to it so. Saving but spending a little bit more. No huge photo bill if possible.
