Will you be going with a signature drink and slimmed down choices, or top shelf all the way??

Are you splurging or saving on the bar?

Modified open bar all the way! Free alcohol and our guests still got some variety.

We are having consumption open bar. We are providing lemonade, ice water, coffee but if anyone wants (we will make it clear that they can ask) a drink from the bar in the other room (we are in a reception room at a restaurant) it will be provided. There is no room to set up a bar in the event room.

Middle of the road. We don't need the most expensive stuff, but want more than just beer and wine.

In between? We haven't actually made the decision on this one. We'll probably be doing wine and beer.

N/A. Our venue comes a with an open bar in the package, so this was easy! We’re not upgrading our bar package beyond basic though.

Saving. Not many people that we're inviting/are coming to the wedding drink so we're having the minimum beer and wine.

I want to save. We'll see what we can get. No cash bar, for sure.

We are having an open bar. Not sure if that means we are saving or splurging. We aren't getting anything special for it or anything.

Splurge. Must have good food and drinks! For our DW, we went full bar, top-shelf but only 15 guests (still went over our estimated budget). For our local reception, we had the option of consumption or per-person...thank goodness we chose per-person! People usually drink more than you think (or set their drink down and get another, or a waiter picks it up).

Our venue allows us to bring our own alcohol in (before anyone asks - we had to purchase insurance specifically for this) and I have a good friend who is a bartender who offered to help out (yes, a friendor but we are ok with that - if for some reason he backs out we are good with people getting their own drinks) - we are doing beer and wine and a bourbon bar (FH's request). Working on what types of beer and wine this week! Smiley smile

We will be splurging a bit but my future in-laws are purchasing all of our alcohol for the day, which I am extremely thankful for. I splurged on a good bartender and I am happy about the decision!

Like yes hosted bar for wine and beer but not splurge. I don't need drunk family. they get so out of hand and burn building down that way ( I am not kidding )

We haven't decided yet. The venue we like has a decent slightly above basic package that's about $8 person. We may go higher, we have to see when we tour the place

This is tricky for me. I would prefer to provide my own beverages but that is apparently not acceptable in my area. There are three types of drinkers in my circle. The non-drinkers, the beer drinkers, and the wine drinkers. The first two aren't the issue. It's the wine that presents a problem. None of the caterers offer the wine we like.

That being said, I am going to probably try to save here if we can't have what we want.
