Spotify Playlist for Non-dancing Wedding

Kelsey, on May 19, 2019 at 8:35 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 2
I'm creating a Spotify playlist for our reception and was hoping to get some tips/thoughts on those that have either done the same or been to weddings that didn't have a DJ, just a playlist. Our reception will be in a backyard where people will play yard games, hang out, drink some beer, etc. Pretty casual; my aunt described it as a tailgate lol. We're not into dancing at all, and no one in our family or friends really are either. The playlist right now is just one big playlist with a range of slower to more upbeat songs that I was going to shuffle. I can't decide if I should break up the playlist into a dinner one and an after dinner one. We don't plan on doing a first-dance, grand entrance, etc. We are doing the cake cutting. What's everyone's thoughts?

Vitamin string quartet is awesome dinner party music.

Also you could just look up the theme of what you are trying to do. Like backyard cookout or dinner party. This let's Spotify do the work for you. If there's young kids make sure to turn on the bad word filter.

    Hi there Kelsey!

This sounds like it will be a great party Smiley smile

I think this is totally based on you and your FS personal preference!

Personally, I like the idea of having something slower and more chill in the background during dinner. Vitamin String Quartet is a GREAT idea as suggested by Hermione! They would provide nice ambiance music in the background while people are eating, mixing and mingling. All their music is on Spotify!

The after dinner place list could be more pop and upbeat! As you're using Spotify, I would recommend you check out some of their own premade playlist and radios, could save you a ton of work!

Is the backyard at your own home, a family member, or elsewhere?
