Spray tan question!

Stephanie, on January 30, 2018 at 8:39 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6
I need advice from anyone who has gotten a spray tan before!!
I’m planning on doing a trial run or two for a spray tan (first timer) for my wedding in September at my local hair salon/Spa. I’m really just looking to get a sun kissed glow because I’m naturally pretty pale but during the summer if I’m out enough I do get a little bit of a tan and it’s kind of what I want to recreate for my wedding day. My only worry is, will the spray tan rub off on my dress in any way?? And if so how many days before the wedding should I get the spray tan to lessen the chances of that happening?? My sister kind of scared me today saying every time she got a spray tan for prom it always rubbed off on her dresses so now I just want some more information and a little bit of reassurance that this won’t happen to me because I LOVE my dress and want to wear it all night and not have fake tanner all over it, thank you for any help you guys!!

I've never had that experience and have gotten quite a few. I'm not a professional but I'd think if you shower with the spray tan once or twice it will have less of a chance of rubbing off. I usually get mine 3 ish days before an event, and like I said, mine have never rubbed off!

I’ve had a lot of spray tans in my day ( I usually get Versa) and have never had a problem with the tan rubbing off on my clothes. I have had issues with the color darkening on elbows, knees, and toes, however, so make sure to use their blocking lotion on your hands/feet/dry areas. I would say 2-3 days before the wedding would be perfect and make sure to wait the suggested time before showering to get the best results. I’m planning on getting one on Thursday for a Saturday wedding.

I’m a spray tan queen. I’m a pale Irish girl who danced for many many years and always needed tans or I literally repelled light on stage. My advice would be to go 2 days before your wedding. I’ve never had a spray tan rub off on anything after about 8-12 hours. Good salons will have a setting spray or lotion to use before and after so it doesn’t get all over everything. Do a trial and see how dark you want to go, most salons have very good workers who will give you their advice and opinion so you don’t look like an Oompa Loompa or 2010 Snooki

I would never risk a spray tan and i have very light skin. I love my natural color. I've just never been a fan of spray tans.

I have done lots and lots of spray tans. I recommend two days before the wedding. Also, I would strongly recommend going to a person for a spray tan rather than a booth (like mystic or versa). The booth is fine for everyday spray tans, but I wouldn’t risk potential issues for your big day. If you go to a good person, you should love the result. Maybe do a few test runs before the wedding to make sure you will be happy with the results.

I did spray tans over 10 years ago and they did rub off on my clothes. They might be better now. However, if you want a sun kissed glow, I recommend Jergens gradual self tanning lotion. You put it on like regular lotion everyday and it slowly builds a tan. It takes 1-2 weeks to get a nice color but it's very easy and natural looking.
