Spraying glitter on a dress?

Leslie, on October 12, 2022 at 1:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Has anyone tried using glitter spray on your dress? I want to add glitter to mine but don’t want to mess it up either, any success/unsuccessful stories? Tips? I asked my seamstress and she said she would have to wet the dresses skirt, put glue on it, and then sprinkle glitter on it but don’t love the process/scared it will ruin it somehow. It’s also an extra $150. So I looked online and found fabric glitter sprays for like $10 where I can just do it myself but again don’t want to ruin my dress, tips?

It may help to mention whether the dress is satin, organza, chiffon or other material. You might get some sample material and try out the spray to see how it looks and behaves on the material.

It’s a tulle skirt!Smiley smile another question do y’all think glitter would make it look too “childish?” I already love the dress but I love glitter too and I’m a little torn.Spraying glitter on a dress? 1

As an alternative, I'd spritz glitter on your bouquet. Putting it on your dress is risky. It can easily cheapen the look

I'm with Willow on this one. Glitter may make your dress appear a bit less nice/more childish. However, my sister had pearls and glitter in her bouquet, and it was beautiful! Would recommend for sure.

I'd be nervous about messing with your dress. If you REALLY want the extra glitter, I'd get a similar fabric sample and test it first. Alternatively, could your seamstress sew a layer of glitter tulle underneath the top layer? It would still shine through but maybe but a little more subdued.
