Spring Wedding Help!

Jessica, on August 18, 2020 at 12:31 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11
Thanks to COVID, I’m forced to change my wedding plans from October to April. I was exploring ideas of moody, jewel toned colors, decor, and flowers for an October wedding but now I need to switch my thinking to spring ideas instead. Any suggestions for a bride who dislikes pastel colors? My dress will have an ivory lace detail with champagne undertones. That’s all I really have checked off of my list so far is my dress. Any help would be great!

You can definitely use jewel tones in the spring! It might seem a little odd to have 100% of your decor in colors that can be described as, "moody," in the spring, but you don't need to substitute them with pastels. You could lighten things up a bit by using lighter metallics, like silver, champagne, and rose gold for some things. They can make jewel tones really stand out without feeling too heavy.

Personally I would just go with the original colors if you like them so much! I am having a VERY summery wedding (yellow, turquoise, lemons and sunflowers lol!) in late November because that's just what I like and what time worked the best for us! That's just my opinion though!

My wedding is in March and our style is “moody.” I think you can work your colors for any season, but here is some non-pastel inspiration: https://weddingsparrow.com/article/moody-spring-wedding-floral-inspiration

Absolutely! Colors aren’t restricted to a season. I think moody jewel tone palettes like these would be fabulous for spring:

Here's some great jewel tones inspiration! I am absolutely loving these colors. I think you can certainly still go with the original vision you had and use the colors you had in mind, just find ways to brighten the overall feel up a bit. Make the darker tones more of an accent and use more vibrant colors as the base.
