Teriauna, on April 2, 2013 at 7:19 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 19

I would do St. Lucia. I haven't been to Aruba but I felt like there wasn't a lot to do in Ocho Rios (not as much as say Negril). Aruba is more of a dry island and St. Lucia and Jamaica are more lush. In Jamaica you also have to be a little more careful about leaving the resorts but I never had any problems in St. Lucia and I've been there a couple of times.

We are going to Negril, Jamaica and I can not wait! I have had a lot of friends honeymoon there and have heard nothing but amazing things!

And I am just like you, pool, sun, drinks and shopping make me happy Smiley winking

The nightlife and shopping is not that great in St. Lucia compared to Aruba

I've only been to St. Lucia. It's okay but, at least on our trip, you had to go to Puerto Rico, then catch a puddle-jumper, after dark, and get into SL late in the evening. It's extremely stressful if it's stormy and you're in a small plane, somewhere over the ocean, and at night. If you go there, stay in the resort. There are some dangerous neighborhoods and even in the open markets you'll get hit on constantly by some rather aggressive locals for money. The cops also don't get involved in trouble (unless it's major) so, you're on your own.

St Lucia!! I have been to Jamaica, and wasn't in love with it. Aruba I don't really remember, but I have heard nothing but wonderful things about St Lucia. My parents travel alot and say that is the prettiest place they have ever been.

We are going to Sandals La Toc in St. Lucia. I've heard so many great things about this resort and location. I would recommend getting the butler and concierge level rooms on the bluffs and also take a helicopter ride from the airport to your hotel. I've been to Aruba. It's ok..I didn't enjoy myself totally. I think it's very Americanized. Ive been to Ocho Rios and stayed at the Rui. I think it's cool for a vacation but the honeymoon needs a more beautiful island. Once you step off the resort in Jamaica it's depressing. I've heard that St. lucia is a beautiful island!! BTW- i think we went to HU together!!

I would do St. Lucia. In fact, that is exactly what *I* wanted to do for our honeymoon! But when we priced it out, it was just too much (for what I wanted, haha)- we are paying for the wedding too. Maybe for our 1 year anniversary. So I say St. Lucia !

St Lucia. It is an amazing country... granted I haven't been to the others... but we LOVED the people and often left our resort to party with them Smiley smile

Of those three locations I have been to Jamaica - ochos rio before and I loved it! I really think it depends on the hotel you stay at. Look at the amenities each has to offer. Jamiaca I did a trip with two of my GFs in my early 20s. We did Dunns River Falls (Climbed a waterfall), Swam with the dolphins, Margaritaville, and our hotel had its own nightclub. Although it wasnt bumping we totally had a blast!
