St. Patrick's Day Wedding - 2018

K, on March 23, 2017 at 12:19 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 28

Hey everyone! I was wondering if any one has or will be getting married on St. Patrick's day? My Fiance and I got together on 3/17/16 and we were excited to see that our anniversary was set to be on a Saturday in 2018.. so we booked it! Perfect timing!

We really love the idea of incorporating St Patrick's day into our wedding. So I was wondering if any one out there has any clever ideas on how to do just that. I've attached a photo of the colors we are going with and I've also attached a photo of the inside of the venue where the reception will be held.. if that helps. Lol

Thanks!

I love that color palette! I would keep it very subtle. Maybe add some gold accents and incorporate it into some of the music. Signature drinks?

Ek, how fun and special! I love your color pallet, before I saw it was going to suggest a deep green in honor of the day. I think the drink idea is fun and subtle enough!

I like those colors Smiley smile I would also recommend keeping the St. Patrick's day incorporation subtle... maybe with just colors and decor (no cheesy leprechauns or pots of gold, haha). Gold would be pretty with those colors,

I agree! i don't want to go crazy with bright greens or anything that would possibly make the wedding look cheap. I love the gold idea!

Okay, sorry for the double post- but what if you did little gold chocolate coins in a pretty bag as a favor? - If you did favors of course.

I've been to a St. Patrick's Day wedding! So fun! Also, green is my favorite color Smiley smile

That being said, my one complaint about the wedding we went to (other than me missing my annual Guinness at the NYC parade which, admittedly, is completely minor when someone we love is getting married) was that everything was green. EVERYTHING. Lighting, napkins, dresses, centerpieces, etc. However, I LOVE the palette you chose and think it's a nice balance of green and not green.

ETA: They served Guinness at the wedding and had corned beef and cabbage as part of the cocktail hour! Yummy!

We did a lovely monogram for an Irish couple that featured their names and Celtic knots, It ended up looking like an elegant lager label - so cute! I'll post a pic later when I find it.

I don't like the color green in general, but I love the color palette and add tocubes of gold. @LauraK those pics are beautiful. It's a really cool idea.

If your venue provides the bar....see if they'll dye the beer green or something fun like that. Otherwise I like what pp have suggested. Your color palette is beautiful as well.

Here is the Celtic monogram - their colors were red and cream, but you can see how they brought a subtle fun into it with these custom labels. We also did coordinating thank you notes and programs. This was several years ago, and - sadly, I don't have any samples of the invitations left. It was a simple classic border card with black ink, using the same fonts. Very classy!
